Great, enjoyed it very much, thanks for posting! I need to check out more of them now! But first the podcast this evening when I finally have done all my chores.

They have two album currently, I think. Really enjoyed both of them. Faun is also worth checking out, and there are a few other more pagan/folk-y bands/artists I can recommend if you like.

Not usually a reggaeton or latin rap person but this new bad bunny record’s lyrics are striking a chord with me. Had a good cry to this song

She’s the real deal.

Absolutely love Bad Religion

@Nelemania - sorry it’s taken me a while to get to this for you. But here’s some suggestions for music similar to Ekaterina Shelehova;

Dead Can Dance: An Aussie world music/ darkwave band, their stuff is incredibly singular. I’ve not heard another quite like them. There’s not really any one track that illustrates their full output well as it’s all quite different.

Faun: A German Cletic/ Nordic folk and darkwave group with some really awesome sounds.

Heilung: These guys are pretty special. Their tracks are all based on real historical folk songs from Iron Age Europe, and they use a lot of traditional instruments. Some of it is pretty wild, but also pretty amazing.

Wendy Rule: An Aussie pagan folk/ goth musician, she has an incredibly haunting voice. The pagan stuff is fairly prevelant, so just be aware if that kind of thing bothers you. Her best album is arguably Wolf Sky.

Honourable Mentions:
Nightwish: Operatic metal at its best. While perhaps a stretch to say they are similar in sound to the above, their music certainly has that epic feel. I’d recommend their Oceanborn, Wishmaster, Century Child and Once albums.

Clannad: An Irish band that mixes traditional Irish/Celtic songs and sound with modern sensibilities.

The Tea Party: An amazing Canadian group that mixed traditional world music instruments with modern rock. Their albums, Spender Solis, Edges of Twilight and Transmission are probably the best in regards to the music concerned here, but all of their albums are great. They are the most “mainstream” on this list, which kind of says a lot.

Thank you very, very much!

I do know some songs from Nightwish and Clannad (only songs from them from long ago, nothing new-ish), the other groups are completely new to me and I will look into all of them!

Little known fact about me, but I sing. And pretty well, at that. I am just usually quite shy most times, but I do have a lot of fun stepping up to the karaoke mic and surprising everyone. XD

I’ve largely modelled my voice off Russel Allen of Symphony X and Henrik Fevre of Anubis Gate, but as I’m getting more and more familiar with vocal-driven industrial music, I’m starting to play with new vocal styles.

Aesthetic Perfection is who I’m kinda working off right now. Not so much his shouting, I try and stay in the clear vocals. But it’s fun learning a new style.

They even did a Clannad anime!

Wtf is up with her face?

I was somewhat mistaken, this is not from the Clannad anime, but from the Sky anime, which is also based on a 90s PC visual novel. But that’s what the character designs actually look like!
