I haven’t played it in a while, but it is a really fun game. I feel like it has a pretty decent following. I also really liked Heart Machine’s second game, Solar Ash which was their first 3D adventure game. I enjoyed the traversal and combat in that quite a bit.
There are elements that are reminiscent of Hyper Light Drifter, especially the combat that feels like a translation of the 2D isometric combat of Drifter to the full 3D world and combat of Breaker It’s not a direct sequel in the sense that it’s not necessarily the same world despite aesthetic similarities.
I’m into the mechanical and environmental storytelling, because like Drifter there is no character dialogue, just the storytelling of your interaction with the world combined with comic-book style art to round out some of the background plot and world lore. I haven’t unlocked or encountered a lot of that yet so I’m still somewhat in the dark. The game is also in early access, so I don’t know how different a player’s introduction to the world will be different once it exits early access.
The game is admittedly pretty rough right now, and there are things I’d like them to rethink and rebalance. But I’m having fun and I think I’ve put five or six hours in so far since yesterday. I like the loop and as I grow more comfortable with the mechanics the game is opening up to me. We’ll see how it goes.

Idea for a discussion; console/ game accessories that never came out that you WISH had done (based on your discussion about the Wii Fitbit).
For me it would be the proposed VMU MP3 that SEGA were working on. This is such an incredibly cool idea, and it’s a shame it never came to fruition (there was a prototype model made, but it’s unclear if it actually operated or what just a physical model for show).
I for one would gladly groove down the street listening to the Ghostbusters theme coming out of my VMU.

It’s not yet. I have an apple podcast connect account. I’ll submit it there and I can add you guys as users I think. It was kind of a pain to setup I think. It helps because there’s quite a few apps that use their directory for search and discovery. Since there’s a lot of people searching for the word Grouvee on podcast apps, we need to get this in front of them!

It should theoretically be published now. I got it submitted, they processed it pretty quick, and I published it. I don’t know how long it will take for it to show up in searches, but it should be there now. Now you guys can ask for people to give 5 stars on Apple Podcasts because that really helps the show out.
