For me it’s Atomfall. If it nails the British-ness that makes stuff like Doctor Who and the Cornetto Trilogy so great it could be amazing! I’m really looking forward to it.

Another game that comes out in February, on the 25th.

The Phantom: The Video Game

I’m very, very cautiously optimistic about this one. I desperately want it to be good, but there are some things in the trailer that don’t look perfect, such as the character animation being a bit stiff. It’s also this studio’s first big (as in, not for mobile) game.

However, there is a lot of love and passion being poured into it. The biggest concern, really, is if people unfamiliar with the character will bother checking it out.

P.S. My user name is “Joey” as in a baby kangaroo, and “pajamas” as in the sleepwear. It’s a nickname my wife came up with.

This is one i almost wonder if we should do a seperate thread for just because of the trailers.

I am not sure if Early Access counts. If so, I stumbled upon a game that intrigued me, but the information about it is a bit sparse:

Usually you fight robots and AI, but being the AI… that’s new to me. I have no experience with 4X games, so I have no idea how the genre works. But the art, the music and the idea got me interested. Still I am not buying into EA but will keep an eye on this.

All in all I am not “anticipating” anything in Q1 in the sense of “wanting to buy”.

Oh and the best: It will come to GOG in Early Access, which means extra options like going back to former states of the game and more:

If someone wants to buy into it definitely worth going with this version over the Steam version where you will always have forced updates.

I cannot copy the trailers though, so youd have to transfer them over. Oh well. Next time lol. Itll be fine.

Was there a UN guide that 80% of the games must have anime-like aesthetics?

Also, CARMEN SAN DIEGO?!

And FM25. There’s no gameplay? That’s the gameplay!

Man, I thought that had been scrubbed from the 'net!

I didn’t get a chance to mention on the episode but I thought the Stone of Madness looked really neat.

I want to know more. It seems interesting

I was intrigued, but also the whole managing a situation as it goes to crap around me applied to this game too based on the trailer.

:notes::musical_note: Do do dodo do :musical_note::notes:

It is starting! sips tea

Ureshi, get well soon!

Carrots for the win! Poor Ureshi pressured into cooking and carrot reviewing. I am looking forward to it not gonna lie.

Hello Roach!

Hi Paycheck Stevens!

Aaaand Nintendo. Acceptable since carrots came first: Take that Nintendo!

Is there a Pokemon that looks similar to a carrot? There should be one.

Minecraft story time. Whenever I played this game I ended up digging straight down and doing basically nothng else letting others on the server doing the building and RP. Probably why Core Keeper resonated with me so much: Vertical digging but also digging and digging for 300 hours… I might have been a dwarf in a former life digging digging so much.

Evil story time! :smiling_imp:

So much less talking over each other, well done!

Vampire Survivors relapse, so understandable for me. For me it is because I can’t play bullet hell games since I just can’t avoid so much going on in a game and die constantly, but reverse bullet hell is like “wow so much going on right now on the screen and I am still alive I AM DOING THIS”.

“Golden Peter” someone needs to make one like an “Oscar” and the Quaaack is back!

The card game of the century. :joy:

When Citizen Sleeper doesn’ let you sleep. False advertising!!! I started it once but I was already feeling down and it seemed to be a heavy story so I decided it needs to wait for another time.

Date everything will be great, because Stephanie James Sterling wrote stuff for it! Stephanie Sterling on Instagram: "Now that it’s announced, I’m excited to say I’m part of the writing team for Date Everything, a sandbox dating sim in which you date… everything! I am incredibly proud to have been involved with this. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2201320/Date_Everything/" I trust that the humor will be alright because of that.

Carmen Sandiego was a game I rented from my library long long ago, but I never could get it running on my PC. I guess back then it would have been something I like, but I don’t know if I would like it now.

When I look into the mirror I say: “I don’t know you but I will brush your teeth ayway!” But true: be nice to yourself!

I had the same thought that we have a specialist for Atelier games and couldn’t remember who it is… Bliceheart I think … yes, 20 games on her shelves. Now we need an Atelier episode on the podcast!

Gollum Game on the shelf … ugh! How did that happen? :joy:Still sad how this killed a game studio.

When watching the Atomfall trailer: Is it just me or do games go more all in with heavy accents nowadays. I definitely like it, but I need more often subtitles now.

We have a group Peter and a personal Peter? How many Peters do we have? imagines an army of Peters

Great episode thanks to all of you! :notes::musical_note: Do do dodo!

Yes, I remember the stealth game escaping from a monastery or something? Completely slipped my memory. Thanks for the reminder!

Of everything listed I’m probably most excited about Atelier Yumia. I love the Atelier games and this one looks like it might lean a bit more on the mature side. Not yet sure how that’ll mix with the usual rather laidback atmosphere the games have, but I’ve yet to be disappointed by one of the games. (Even Nelke was okay but it barely counts anyway.)

Honorable mention to the DanMachi game (Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon). The gameplay doesn’t look like anything special but I believe this is the first game with an original story. I really appreciate getting new content and not just an adaptation like so many tie-ins… Certainly can’t be any worse than Infinite Combate.

I’m most excited for Citizen Sleeper, without parallel. But there are other games I’m looking forward to, like Doom: The Dark Ages, Pipstello, Morsel, Posessors and probably a few others. I feel like I need to do a review of everything planned for release to see if there’s anything else I’m not thinking of. Oh, and Hyper Light Breaker, but I’ve already started that one so I’m not longer anticipating it, lol.

I await the day that ULTRAKILL leaves early access. Once it releases, it will easily be my game of that year by a WIDE margin. Nothing will come close. But there’s no date on that so DOOM: The Dark Ages is my most anticipated game of the year by far.

i had a segment locked and loaded where i announced that Silksong won the Golden Peter of Anticipation, but I didn’t want to overmilk the meme.

Can we not talk about milking peters, this is a family show!

Came out a day too early for me to end up on the podcast. One of us has to play it or it has to have some sort of remarkable controversy for it to be featured on the show now!

you’re an advocate for the first one too, right? does the world feel consistent across two vastly different mechanical styles? are you into the story?
