Norman Reedus  Perfect way to start the podcast.

Ducks, nice to hear your voice! Ducks goes vroom! :taxi:

Aaand there is Nintendo, but I noticed Donkey Kong was mentioned in the first Minute - sneaky! Challenge for the podcast: One episode where nothing Nintendo is mentioned. Challenge impossible? Now I imagine in post production every mentioning of Nintendo beeped out in a segment about Nintendo. beep beeep beep

The podcast could have gone with carrots and went with the worst advertiser after Honey. Well done! :joy: Please give carrots a chance, Ureshi!

When a remake of a game gets announced that I like very much it stresses me out a lot. What if they mess up the Gothic 1 remake? It would hurt, honestly. I don’t even know why, because I am used to the original and find it playable and holding up well and I could just ignore a remake if it is bad - but I know I can’t ignore it. Does this even make sense? A reboot I am less concerned with because it will stand more on its own feet and wants to be something different. Or something that heavily leans on it but does completely its own thing like Drova - Forsaken Kin. I am also way more able to forgive problems with reboots and homages - I don’t feel the need to compare them too close to the original.

Konami goes vromm ka-ching!

I so much understand Roach wanting to start at the beginning of a series and also play prequels later to enjoy the fan service/inside jokes etc, but that’s exactly why I haven’t started many series because the first ones are just too old for me to enjoy them. I should abandon that idea and start with the first one that works for me and watch a video about the earlier ones.

QUAAAACK! Respect the quaaack! Great idea to make it a game, enjoyed it a lot! Hope you will come up with more game ideas like this.

Where is God when you need them to hit a CEO with lightning?

I guess the announcement of the next Switch switched(!) to a different date? I wonder if a new one will sell also 146 million units.

BYE! Dodo dodo do do do! :musical_note::notes: Can’t wait for the next episode!

Should there be a separate thread for each episode?

Depends how much convo we get is kinda what im running with right now. If something sparks a massive convo we can, but right now its been 5 or 6 comments and thats it. Id hate to fill the forum with a bunch of 3 comment threads personally.

Absolutely the DKC series. I hate (hate is a strong word and I mean it) the movement and changes in physics in the newer versions. Give me weird frontal hitboxes and weird double jumps back!

I can completely understand the stress of a remake. That’s how I felt about FFVII Remake as well and I have felt a bit of disappointment with the new games. Usually my excitement of remakes stems from “this game that I loved is now accessible again” and then I just hope they don’t ruin it. More often than not, I would be just as happy with a port that had a few QOL features than a full on remake.

I am relieved you understood where I was going with wanting to play games in publication order. This is why storyline chronology doesn’t influence my starting point in a game series. Sometimes it can even “spoil” any mystique alluded to said events or characters if you play prequels first. Usually prequels are exciting cause you get to experience a character’s backstory or a past event that you’ve already been introduced to. Playing them first is just weird to me hahaha.

I’m out sick today and I’m taking a break from trying to sleep by listening to Electric Boogaloo and playing Fallout 4.

There’s a fair bit of overspeaking, which is understandable given the medium. I think you’ll learn to take turns better in time as you learn your “tells”. But if you record each other channel separately, you can then edit the interruptions out or slightly shift timings to reduce the overspeaking.

did you listen to both episodes? IMO it gets a lot better in the second episode.

Yes, absolutely. There were some false starts, though, that are expected in any normal conversation --especially with internet latency-- that could be removed in the edit.

We recorded the next episode yesterday and i think all of us took particular attention to letting others talk. I was editing it this morning and found a lot less of it than the other episodes. Hopefully its better
