Over the years I’ve noticed that more than a handful of people on Grouvee play FFXIV. I thought that a forum thread for FFXIV discussion, play scheduling and other game related topics was long overdue. Therefore I’m creating this as the official thread that will allow discussion, info sharing and general FFXIV related content. Feel free to use this thread to connect with other Grouvee members playing FFXIV, to collaborate or invite others to play, and to generally have a great time hanging out and playing the game.
So if you’re are an FFXIV player, fan, or both and are looking for fellow Eorzea residents to help you while away the time, this is the place for you.
I don’t play often enough to maintain a constant subscription but figured I’d post my stuff here since I really love the game. I can add folks next time I’m subbed!

Unfortunately all my cool character screenshots are from before my most recent Fantasia use, so the best I have is the image from my profile. Not exactly my favorite outfit, but I suppose it’ll do.
I have an inquiry. I am very bad with spending money on gacha games. Like, deleted them all and can never look back disastrous amounts of money bad. Am I going to be able to control myself in an MMO like this or should I avoid?
Are you worried you’ll want to buy cosmetics? There’s no gacha in it, and while there are a handful of cosmetics and mounts you can buy from the Squenix store, it represents a tiny fraction of all the things you can get in game without spending money. You also can’t buy anything with real money from within the game. And you can’t buy 99% of the gear, minions and mounts in the game with real or from outside the game.
Effectively you just have to play to earn things, or loot it from things like dungeons.
You can try the game up to level 20 for free to see if you like it, and it’s on PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC.
You can browse the things you can buy at the site below to get an idea of things you can pay for with real dollars. Some of this is stuff you can use account wide, and others are character specific. But again, this is a fraction of what’s available in game, and what’s in game can’t be purchased. Most subscription MMOs are like that and they don’t have near the level of crap designed to make you spend real money as F2P games.
Resubbed for the month of October at least and made sure to take a nice group pose screenshot as soon as I got in! I’m happy to friend anyone who wants to, I just wish we didn’t have to both be online to send a request.
Well, if you ever have a general idea of when you plan to log in/play, I’ll happily datacenter hop and send you a friend request. We also have FFXIV voice chat and text channels on Discord for online coordination.

All Saints’ Wake 2025 has been announced! The event is live from Oct. 17 - Nov. 4. We should organize a spooky photo opp for the few of us that are playing. If you’re interested, start planning your glamour outfits.
I do very much want to get to end game in Dawntrail because I want to do the Monster Hunter crossover content and I need to be level 100 and at end game
I should spookify my portraits but then I’d have to update them again once Halloween is over and I never run with randoms anymore so what is the point.
