Caught me a coelacanth!

I’ve used so many baits at so many times of day in so many different weather conditions… and always with the seabass and football fish!?!

I have a question. Can you sell the furniture you make to attract new residents? I can pick up any outdoor furniture I had to craft for them, but wasn’t sure if they would mention it if I sold all their crap.

Sure you can! Whether they’ll notice… I don’t know. Give it a try :joy:

Aah, 4 whole rows of pocket storage. Now watch me fill it in seconds :joy:

I will often play between 4AM GMT to 11AM GMT. Not the whole time obviously, but that is when I’ll hop in. I’ll try to start leaving my gate open if anyone wants to stop by.

I don’t understand what the town tune is. When does it play, because I don’t recognize the default one and I don’t understand when we hear it.

Also the general music changed when resident services upgraded, and I kind of want the old music back. The original music was chill and the new music is too upbeat. Any way to change that?

It plays at all sorts of times. When you initiate a conversation, for instance. But it’s more motif or a sting than a tune as such.

Dunno if you can change the music but mine is still super chill slow jazz

I talked to one of my residents and noticed it now that you say that.

My music changed back. I think it was just the period after resident services opened that the music changed.

And then the music changed on the next hour. So it cycles.

Do bell trees bloom more than once? I’m trying to figure out if I can dig up my tree after harvesting it.

Bell trees are a one time thing yeah. So dig away. And yes, the music is hourly although it’s usually pretty chill.

Wow, this thread is hopping! Totally stealing borrowing those sheikah slate phone case and Switch jacket designs!

My favorite addition to New Horizons is being able to place furniture anywhere. A balloon popped with this big garish neon sign that I couldn’t resist throwing in front of the museum:

Speaking of signs, as soon as I saw this furniture I immediately thought of the signs that spin at the end of acts in Sonic levels. I used the Switch Online app to transfer the artwork from a Reddit user and now I grin every time I walk up to my house:

There is something really charming about seeing a villager enjoying some little scene I set up:

I had fun this morning making a little lookout point at a secluded corner of the tallest cliffs:

The only criticism I have is the same that everyone seems to have: Breaking tools! I’ve started always keeping an extra set in my house’s storage just because it lowers my stress level to know I won’t need to scour for materials to get a set that doesn’t break right away. But I really wish there were indestructible tools we could be working toward, or that you could fix broken tools with fewer materials.

But overall I’m having a blast!

I have a similar neon sign, except mine is purple. The stuff the falls from the sky is fascinating.

I have been dealing with the breaking tools by placing DIY benches in key places. It’s worked out well so far.

Has anyone seen the swap meets people have set up? We should organize one. Swap fruits and other useful items. Thanks to @anon99849784 I have the pears that complete my collection and can pass on fruits to others as soon as my trees replenish.

Sounds like a good idea

I recreated @georgeypoorgey’s sweet Switch jacket. I made a few adjustments but the bones of the original are still there:

I also copied @anon99849784’s sheikah slate, which looks awesome. Made some small tweaks as well, but it would have taken me a lot longer without a starting point:

I’m assuming the golden version of tools will be available eventually, especially since I’ve gotten gold ore from rocks a few times. I’m a little burnt out on the tools breaking, honestly.

However! In case you guys hadn’t come across it online somewhere, you can reset the usage count through customization or upgrading. For example, the regular axe gets like 100 hits, or 33.3 trees. If you keep track of hits, then go customize it before you hit 100, you can reset the uses to 0. This still requires you to go to a DIY station, but at least it only uses the customization material and not the other resources.
