Grouvee Game Nights—let's all go for a walk together! (ft. Big Walk)

Have you ever wanted to play video games with all the friendly faces in the Grouvee community?

This thread is a space for users to suggest, plan and organize multiplayer game sessions together! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. So let’s make it happen!

(Note that Grouvee Game Nights is different to Grouvee Game Club, which focuses on voting for a shared game for the users to play in their own time and discuss in the thread. The sole focus of Grouvee Game Nights is playing multiplayer games with the community. Think of it as a spin-off with the shared goal to get the community together for fun times!)

Games old and new can be suggested for Grouvee Game Nights, but for our inaugural Game Night we will be playing House House’s new cooperative online walker-talker Big Walk!

Big Walk (2026, House House; macOS, PlayStation 5, Windows, Nintendo Switch 2)

Big Walk is multiplatform and has crossplay, so if you are interested in joining please purchase the game on your system of preference, but please note that a microphone will be required to communicate in-game (however, text chat is also available). I believe the game has a maximum player cap of 12 players, so this is the player limit for the first Grouvee Game Night game. I don’t think we’ll need to worry about running out of space as the plan is to play through the game as a small crew, but that’s why I’m here gauging interest!

On Big Walk’s FAQ page, the game is referred to as a “long-form cooperative game” designed to be played with the same group across multiple sessions from beginning to end. As such, I think the best plan would be to play the game together with the same small group of Grouvee users across multiple sessions. I have no clue how long Big Walk is, but it seems it may be best to play the game across 2-3 sessions. Please keep this in mind if you plan on joining in!

I’m open to taking suggestions, but my thinking is a Grouvee Game Night multiplayer session should cap out at 2-3 hours. Because people have lives and stuff!

As this thread is to gauge the interest and availabilities of community members, if you are interested in participating please post a message in this thread with your preferred dates and times of availability through August, and let me know what time-zone you are in! From there, we can decide upon a date and time that is comfortable for everybody to attend, have fun, and share memories of Grouvee’s Big Walk.

My hope is this thread will serve as a structured place to get the community involved in suggesting and playing multiplayer games together. There is no pressure or stake involved in your participation. If you are listed as attending and complications come up and you are unable attend, no worries! Please remember this is all for fun.

The same rules and code of conduct for Grouvee and the Grouvee forums apply here. Don’t be hateful, mean or rude or you’re out. Once again, this is for fun. My priority is keeping Grouvee Game Nights a safe space for everyone in our tight-knit community to play games together.

Anyway—reply below if you want to go on a Big Walk! Please provide us with the following information (courtesy of @BMO , thank you so much!)

I pinned this for two weeks because that’s probably the window during which initial players will be most active, and this will give people a chance to find people to match with a bit easier for those two weeks.

Ok, so I’m excited to join your game @Jace. I can try to work around people’s schedules once we know who wants to play.

I’d be keen to join, but I’ll be out of commission for the next 3 weeks travelling to conferences.

It has cross play so people don’t need to worry about platform matching.

Hit us up after that, I’m sure we can get another session going.

I got confused whether the contact info was specifically for Big Walk or in general for future game nights. I will be playing via PC for Big Walk for sure.

Yes, as BMO says! Just let us know the username for which system you purchase the game on @Roach, should you join in!

Once I’ve gotten a few responses we can start to settle on a proper date and time, but I do think Friday + weekends are the best days for Game Nights! We will see.

I’m sure we can get together another group to play through the game together assembled more informally. Just let us know when you get back, I’m certain a handful of us could organise something!

i would jump on but as a parent with four kids and a busy job, I will not have the most open schedule. why dont you figure out a time and if I can make it, I’ll join.

Platform and username makes it easier to match if you’re on the same platform. Otherwise there is a session code.

You’re on the list! :white_check_mark:

Counting myself, you, @Roach and @BMO, that’s already four, which is great! I’ll give peoples more time to register their interest before I confirm a date and time to play, but so far it’s looking like Saturdays might be our best bet!

I’m so down for this! Perhaps if the time zone is too big of a gap like 8 hours or so we could split into two if there’s enough people for nearby timezones. Not that I want to split people up, but I know how hard it can be to coordinate when the time difference is so big!

Timezone: UTC + 1

I saw your group when I logged in to the game, which makes it super easy to join the group of a Steam Friend.

That’s interesting as I wasn’t the host of that game, so that makes it very accessible for friends of friends to join. I am interested to know how it works if you join someone mid game, because when you start a server you choose the player size, so if that increases as people join, will the server or world grow with it? Or will it prompt a restart? I’m not even sure how progress is saved between players or if the puzzles are all randomised. Would imagine it gets a bit repetitive if you’re constantly joining different groups games and doing the same puzzle over and over.

I spent some time being confused about time zones, but I think I’m figuring it out!

Paging all Walkers (@BMO, @Roach, @shinespark, @WerqKween and @Atag): let me know if Saturday, the 8th of August at 10PM UTC would work well for our first Big Walk! I’m trying to find a happy medium time that could be doable for everyone; I’m sorry that this time works out a bit late for you Atag. :frowning:

I’m open to suggestions in regard to specific times! Being AEST time myself, I’m working this all out as I go along, so any help really is deeply appreciated. I want everyone who wants to play to be able to play!
