Dicey Dungeons (PC, macOS, Linux, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, Android)
The only issue with this is its only on 3ds. But the series runs all the way back to the Sega Saturn, and has a new game coming out in like a week. They all basically play the same, so if you want you could just say the series. Theyre a mix of monopoly style boardgame and a Magic the Gathering inspired card game.
It has english entries on Ps2 (Culdcept, american release of Culdcept Second), xbox 360 (Culdcept Saga) DS (culdcept DS, remake of the 1st game) 3DS (culdcept Revolt) and the upcoming game on switch / switch 2, Steam (Culdcept BEGINS)
Secondly Id go for Phantom Dust. On original Xbox, and backwards compatible on newer xboxs, plus a remastered version that brings it up to 1080p. That version is also free.
Its a 3rd person arena brawler with Collectible card game mechanics used for combat. It has a big focus on psychic powers.
As a alt if you Wanna balance out the number of card game vs dnd style stuff.
Arx Fatalis, an Arkane classic dungeon crawler / immersion sim inspired by the Ultima RPG series.
Look like it will be Lost Kingdoms II and I don’t have a Gamecube so I’ll see you all next month. I spend this month trying to beat one singular actual boss in Sekiro. Just one. Maybe even a miniboss. I’ll report back if my Steam Deck doesn’t end up in pieces on my wall.
I am enjoying this so far, but I need to go back out and change my button mapping. I tried to map the GCN buttons to my DS4 in a way that made sense on paper but once in game all of face buttons seem a bit backward, so I need to tweak the mapping. .
