Damn, I wish I had seen this during noms. This is a category I probably could have thrown a few good suggestions for

I can add more noms to the poll, I left it open for that reason. People would just have to add them to their ranking, if they want to.

If people who nominated are open to that, I’ll do it (so @Roach, @Vakil and @shinespark).

Sounds good to me.

@U_eshi, post your suggestions regardless. Give me two and if @shinespark and @vakil agree with @roach I’ll add them in.

Okay

So first Im gonna suggest Culdcept Revolt.

The only issue with this is its only on 3ds. But the series runs all the way back to the Sega Saturn, and has a new game coming out in like a week. They all basically play the same, so if you want you could just say the series. Theyre a mix of monopoly style boardgame and a Magic the Gathering inspired card game.

It has english entries on Ps2 (Culdcept, american release of Culdcept Second), xbox 360 (Culdcept Saga) DS (culdcept DS, remake of the 1st game) 3DS (culdcept Revolt) and the upcoming game on switch / switch 2, Steam (Culdcept BEGINS)

Secondly Id go for Phantom Dust. On original Xbox, and backwards compatible on newer xboxs, plus a remastered version that brings it up to 1080p. That version is also free.

Its a 3rd person arena brawler with Collectible card game mechanics used for combat. It has a big focus on psychic powers.

As a alt if you Wanna balance out the number of card game vs dnd style stuff.

Arx Fatalis, an Arkane classic dungeon crawler / immersion sim inspired by the Ultima RPG series.

New titles added. Don’t forget to add them to your ranking if you already voted (optional but encouraged).

Look like it will be Lost Kingdoms II and I don’t have a Gamecube so I’ll see you all next month. I spend this month trying to beat one singular actual boss in Sekiro. Just one. Maybe even a miniboss. I’ll report back if my Steam Deck doesn’t end up in pieces on my wall.

It should probably be easy to emulate if you want to give it a shot. Have you tried any emulation on your Steam Deck yet? EmuDeck makes it super easy.

I’ll see if I feel like taking that on. I do love to learn a new technical skill.

I really like Game Tech’s emulation wiki for reliable and up-to-date info on how to get everything running!

Okay, EmuDeck installed. Now I just have to find a copy of Lost Kingdoms 2 somewhere. The easy part.

I am enjoying this so far, but I need to go back out and change my button mapping. I tried to map the GCN buttons to my DS4 in a way that made sense on paper but once in game all of face buttons seem a bit backward, so I need to tweak the mapping. .
