Grouvee Game Club

Ive never played a Katamari game ever but they always seem like fun. I have a friend that swears by them. Looking forward to trying this out.

I’ve played a teeny tiny bit of Reroll but I remember a public school friend introducing me to the original and Okami at his house.

I still randomly sing katamari music. 20 something years later.

I am working really hard on finishing previous Game Club games. I finished a Short Hike recently and I am so stinking close on finishing Ikenfell. I will complete them all!!

Last year, I 100%ed Super Mario Sunshine for the first time, and noted that it had been a choice here earlier

Probably wouldn’t’ve had much of interest to say about it anyway, in this day and age

When I said I started it, i blitzed through katamari that weekend, i couldn’t put it down.

Holy crap lmao. Glad you enjoyed it! It’s such a wonderfully goofy game. A great example of video game art (in my opinion). I can’t wait to get to it myself.

I think i gave it 5 on here because it was so enjoyable and only sometimes had small camera hitches which was pretty awesome. Ended up getting the sequel too.

Ahhhh I was supposed to start the next polling process last week but I got distracted with ren faire shenanigans so we may start this one a little later than normal…

The Grouvee Game Club theme for May 2026 will be… Employee of the Month! Feel free to suggest any game where the player is an employee, is hired to complete a specific task/job, or runs some type of business.

Suggest up to two games following this theme. The poll will go up on May 1st.

  • Citizen Sleeper or Citizen Sleeper 2

Doing my part to pick anti-capitalist games that are still on theme!

Yessss. I love to see it. I was inspired by one of the observances for May being “working class month” and was torn between a theme around being a worker or classism. Classism is more interesting to me but I wasn’t sure if many games would fall under that theme. Maybe that’s something we can use for next time.

My suggestions are going to be:

  • AI: the Somnium Files (the main character is a detective)
  • Potion Craft (the player runs a potion selling business)

This was an easy suggest. Much easier than I would have expected for the theme.

Going Under, a dungeon crawler about a new employee at a tech company having to battle through the ruins of other failed start ups.

American Arcadia, this would be my real pick. A game about a man who has been living his life in office work, only to discover he is actually part of a corporate TV show and the ensuing attempts to escape. It does some really cool stuff and the world theme is fantastic

Papers Please would be my obvious pick
