Making my way through a new playthrough now, so I’ve joined you all. I made two decisions for this playthrough, to chose a different ending and to do a melee run . So far so good.
Looks like Sorry We’re Closed is 32% off on Steam currently!
I’m still working my way through Day 1.
I have made it to the underground area where I ate shit cause I wasn’t paying attention hahaha. Not being able to move while in combat mode is a bit difficult to get used to. I’m not sure what the ideal strat is but I’m guessing I will do better if I enter combat mode earlier than directly in front of the rats. There is a goodie on a train that I walked by and I’m wondering if there’s a way actually on that train now or if I need to use my third eye to get in there. I’ll try to find a way in when I reload since I saved right next to it. Also I’ve decided I do not like Darrell. No surprises for anyone, I’m sure. He’s not very likable.
Yes and no. Robyn explains that activating your third eye stuns enemies for a moment, but only if they are within range. So they won’t be stunned if they are too far away. You also don’t want to shoot at enemies out of that range if you have the third eye activated because the bullets won’t pass through the veil revealed by the third eye.
I ain’t got no bullets yet so it’ll be easier once I get em.
Managed to beat the first boss. I definitely needed to lower the difficulty for that fight.
I kinda ran into the same problem! I’ve been enjoying the game a lot, but getting to the first proper section of gameplay I’ve been struggling with it. I made a post here yesterday about it but it was very ranty, so I deleted it and slept on it.
The fixed camera angle makes it really easy for me to get lost, and between that and the perspective change when switching to combat I became very disoriented. I was in a really sleepy, crabby mood yesterday, so I think I was predisposed to rather sour feelings.
I think I’ll dial down the difficulty when I try it again. I really enjoy the adventure/exploration aspects but I’m finding the combat a bit too stressful!
Take a look at the accessibility settings, there are a few that might be helpful, at least in terms of combat.
I have faith in the both of us! We can do it!
For PC players, definitely try switching to KB/M. You’ll finding aiming far easier.
I noticed they added visual cues that indicate th direction enemies are approaching you form if they are off screen. That’s handy.
I will try this! I started with controller just because it felt more appropriate to the game, but I did find aiming very difficult.
On switch 2 so I can’t go kb/m but the main thing I did was give myself an endless water bottle. You can pause combat to heal any time and that’s been super helpful. The main problem I had with the first boss is missing the heartbreaker shot or not taking it fast enough. I used the axe more earlier in the level to save bullets and that helped.
I haven’t touched this game in awhile. Between being generally busy and ACNH, my progress has been zero! My goal is to make some progress at the latest this weekend so here’s hoping.
I reached the final day yesterday evening. I think I’ve figured out the mechanics but there is one incredibly challenging section that had me fuming. Still not loving the combat.
Which section?
When you’re running through the crypt and the spikes are chasing you and you have to break the boards to get through before the spikes get to you. Having to face and aim on the boards quickly gave me a lot of trouble. Overall I like the game, but the perspective change in combat and the general slowness to turn if you’re not facing the opponent messes me up some.
Finished on the train home just now. Still thinking about what I would say in my review.
Which ending?
Huh? Didn’t know there were options? I defeated the duchess and opened the shop back up. I saw there was option to join the duchess but didn’t think it would actually work so just refused. How many endings are there?
