I have no reservations against it. I choose Patcha because I found the idea of a Stardew Valley with cave people intriguing and I owned the other game already (now I own both anyway).
If we can get more people behind another of these games I will agree to it. I am interested in a cozy game to talk about with others while playing and maybe sharing our finds and struggles along the way.

Roots of Pacha!
This is a farming life simulation game set in the Stone Age. It was released in 2023 by developer and publisher Soda Den after being funded through Kickstarter. It was inspired by Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons, and the Clan of the Cave Bear (one of my favorite books!). There was some controversy with this game as their original publisher Crytivo had the game delisted from Steam less than a month after it’s release. But now it’s back and ready to be played by the Grouvee Game Club.
If you are aware of any deals for this game, please feel free to share for those who don’t own the game yet. It appears it is no longer on sale through the Humble Store anymore. :((

It should probably be added that the devs wanted to rescind their contract terms with Crytivo and removed Crytivo’s access to the game on Steam. It is Valve policy to remove any game under contract dispute from Steam. So while Soda Den claims Crytivo took the game down, it appears that is not quite the whole story because neither party has a say per Valve’s policies until both parties resolve the issue. The dispute was resolved some time later, privately.

There are currently no deals on this game. I can update if that changes but it seems only to be available on Steam and through Humble. I’ll look to see if it’s on other stores, but according to IsThereAnyDeal, there are no additional stores carrying it.
The best discount right now is for people with Humble Choice, which will be the standard percentage off based on your subscription length.

Life has been taxing and it’s the end of the year rush to finish any games we’ve started so I figured we could take this final month off to self-reflect, focus on ourselves and relax! I may take this time to try to finish some of the previous game club games I haven’t completed yet (like Ikenfell and a Short Hike).
If y’all have any suggestions for 2026 themes, or maybe even ways to improve the game club, please feel free to share your thoughts.

Is it bad I forgot about the game club? Life has been a lot for me recently. But I think it’s time for our winter break to end!
Our first theme for 2026 is going to be love, romance, and relationships. Please suggest up to two games for us to play with this theme in mind. Suggestions will close on Jan. 25th. Voting will open on Jan. 26th and the winner will be announced on Feb. 1st.

Florence is full of sincerity… in spite of the games director abusing staff. 
Unpacking is also so unique and says so much without any dialog. Memorable!
