Ha, no, just confused, and I guess I also read it as a question.
Frog fractions was a game that looked like just some education game, but becomes something totally unexpected and weird. So i was making a joke that bird alone initially was described as fun pet sim before changing themes in a similiar way
End of February update!
I wanted to do the games in alphabetic order since that just seemed neat. But Arco and Black Mesa were so good I needed a break from amazing games, if that makes sense? And I think I might adore Chants of Sennaar even more so I’m keeping it for later. So I’m doing the order a bit more on vibes.
I like how the challenge makes me prioritize games I otherwise probably wouldn’t have played, but maybe I shouldn’t have made the list upfront, it’s a bit intimidating now haha.

Im going to be honest, I’m kinda conflicted with the alphabet challenge simply because of one game, that takes around thousands of hours to beat it, meaning that I’m not really sure when or if at all the challenge will be done with. I still enjoy the game, but I’m just not sure how to appproach it when it comes to ‘logging it down’.
Any ideas?
I think as long as you’ve started it and put effort into playing it, I don’t think completing it is the important part. I use it as a way to play games on my backlog I may have skipped over repeatedly. Whether I finish them or not is up to me. At least I booted it up.
Anyone else here annoyed at the recent releases of Avowed, Atomfall, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Atelier Yumia?
So that’s what the tripple “A” industry really is about, being mean and hindering the Alphabet Challenge on Grouvee by naming all good new games in the “A” category?
But I would go with “S” for Shadows and “Y” for Yumia and just not go by the series names, doesn’t help for Avowed and Atomfall though.
If I recall I had a hard time finding an A game last year (which does seem absurd on the face of it).
We’re a quarter through the year, so I thought I’d do an update on how I’m doing: It’s pretty terrible!
It’s not that bad, I’ve just been spending more time with my girlfriend, and some of the games I chose to play were either too long or too bad so it’s taking a while to get through them. I still feel like I can do it though. Maybe.
Here’s an updated list of what i’ve played: Bold is finished, standard is ongoing.
- A - Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. 4/10
- B - Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. 9/10
- D - Donkey Kong 1994. 7/10
- M - Marvel’s Midnight Suns
- R - Rusty’s Retirement
- T - Toem. 9/10
- W - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
And what I plan on playing:
- C - Cobalt Core
- E - Everhood
- F - Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
- G - Gauntlet 2014
- H - HiFi Rush/Homebody
- I - Ikari Warriors
- J - Jet Force Gemini
- K - Kero Blaster
- L - Lego Marvel Super Heroes
- N - Night in the Woods
- O - Outer Wilds
- P - Pokémon Legends Z-A (when it comes out)
- Q - Quake
- S - Stray
- U - Undertale Yellow
- V - Valkyria Chronicles
- X - X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Y - Ys Origin
- Z - The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages / Oracle of Seasons
And here’s some notes:
- I’ve started Everhood before but never actually finished it. I don’t remember anything about it so I think it’s fine if I start over.
- Tried to play Star of Providence but it wasn’t really my thing. Maybe someday.
- Could’ve probably finished more games if I hadn’t spent ~200 hours playing Terraria and Marvel Rivals but oh well.
- Purchased Rayman Legends at the end of last year thinking it’d be nice to play through during this challenge. I also purchased a nice tycoon/idle game called Rusty’s Retirement earlier this year, playing it every once in a while. I didn’t realize until now that they both start with R. Oops.
- I’ve been wanting to play Cobalt Core for months but didn’t know what it was actually called. Took me a while to actually find the game in the store and then I had to wait for a sale. Added it to my steam cart during the last sale but I forgot to actually purchase it, didn’t realize until it was over. I’m too deep into this rabbit hole now and I refuse to play any other C games, so while I’m trying to go in alphabetic order, that slot might remain empty for a while. This is my white whale.
- The internet lied to me, advance wars sucks
Overall, I’m having fun, but idk how many more games I’ll actually end up finishing. We’ll see.

I’ve managed to do really well just playing stuff I wanted to play, haha. Though I’ll admit I think from here on out it’s gonna get tougher. I’m trying to stay pretty strict about the first letter from a non-article being the relevant one for the challenge and that makes Z pretty tough to fill in. I don’t own any games that start with it as far as I know. I guess if I can’t find something good to fill in that spot I can give Zenless Zone Zero a try or something.
- A - Animal Well
- B - Bandle Tale

- Z
I’m doing Hogwarts Legacy now. I’m thinking The Quarry, original Red Dead Redemption, UnMetal, and Wandering Sword will fill out most of what remains. Not sure what I’ll do for my X and Y. I’ve started X-Com 2 twice and both times I reach a point where my team simply can’t proceed. I have a couple of Yakuzas in my library but those don’t seem interesting to me at the moment. Especially since I think Wandering Sword will be 100 hour RPG or more so I need short games to fill those spots.
