Game Polls: Favorite Pokemon Game

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon have been out for a little while now and, though I may not have yet played it I know that many already have. With the release of another core series Pokemon game, it is time to see how it ranks among its predecessors to see which is regarded as the community fave.

  • Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow
  • Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal
  • Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald
  • Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green

Though Pokemon games become more advanced with all that 3D, graphics, and all the stuff, I still like GBA era the most: RSE trio is my choice. The best 2D graphics: bright, colorful, and smooth. The plot is not worse that any of main series games, the gameplay is versatile but not too much. I find earlier games more pale and elder games too overloaded with features and online (and I don’t like 3D, too :older_man:).

What about spin offs: Mystery Dungeon is my love, I just adore this series much-much more that the main one

I agree, though I do like the older stuff as well as the new. I think the games need to slow down. One a year is too much. I used to be able to name every pokemon by heart but that ability faded with X and Y and is now gone with Sun and Moon. I need time to familarize myself with the game for a bit longer.

I played a lot the 1st and 3rd generation games and returned for Sun/Moon.
Although I have very fond memories of my GBA games, Sun/Moon is the best Pokemon ever in my opinion.
They just have all the stuff I can remember from the old games, plus some other extras that one might like or not (I’m looking at you “Refresh” feature) that are mostly optional. On top of that, they’ve simplified and/or revealed a lot of advanced stuff for the hardcore players, like EVs, IVs, etc… I just think the games are able to please a much wider audience.
