This may be pessimistic, but I don’t think the people that vote for him will ever turn on him. They’re too concerned with being fucking stupid and hateful as a lifestyle, and “owning the libs,” that they’ll never change.

My first reaction was to bin every American-made thing I own and start burning US flags. However I calmed down and reminded myself that not all Americans are like this - this site being a good example. That said, if there are any anti-Trump/US Administration rallies in England that I can arguably attend I’ll be all over them like a blowfly on a dropped sausage roll!

This mess will go on until the Democrats are supposed to build America up from its ruins and then being told that it takes so long and hurts and the Republicans would do so much better, because “they are actually the fiscally responsible party”, rinse and repeat.
I would prefer to read that happening in a dystopian fiction and not in the news, but I am in the wrong timeline. 
That it doesn’t work is shown by the “winnings” they praise themselves for that are just going back to how things were before Trump and only get rid of some of the mess he has made and only for 90 days or so until he has another tantrum. Lutnick watches that and gets rich by the chaos because it creates people selling and buying shares like crazy. The super rich can’t fail, but they can fail everyone else - that needs to change.

For those interested in the Palestine/ Israel conflict I recommend checking out the latest episode of of Pod Save the UK, [Moral] Panic on the streets of Glastonbury, for really great coverage of the fallout from the artists who supported Palestine at the Glastonbury festival.
I found it really interesting, but being completely honest - and at the risk of sounding like a complete moron - I still struggle to understand it. All I really get is that lots of people are being killed which is never good.

A good starting point to understanding the entire underlying conflict is to read about the Nakba.
What Nish says about Netanyahu is correct, he needs this war to stave off the consequences of the genocide he is visiting upon civlians. As long as there is war he can stay in power, and is just another fascist holding onto power through violence and hiding behind the guise of Democracy.
As Nish points out, there is a big push to label things like what I just said above as antisemitic because Netanyahu is Jewish. But nothing of what I said has anything to do with his religion or nationality. Rather, it is a comment on his abuse of power as a politician. But the impetus is to shut down all criticism of anything remotely related to Israel to use it as a cudgel to silence critics. this has long been the goal of the ADL, to label anything critical of Israel as antisemitic to scare people into silence or support. And it’s working, because career politicians and journalists in countries like the UK and US are afraid enough of being called antisemitic themselves that they are willing to skew the truth and pass laws that declare protest as equivalent to terrorism. It’s a dark time.
