Since I’m an adult and can definitely be trusted to create a gaming challenge, I would like to introduce the Grouvee Alphabet Backlog Challenge!
There are two ways to approach this challenge:
Play or beat games for each letter of the alphabet.
(Ex: A - Assassin’s Creed, B - Bomberman)
OR
Select one letter to play or beat games starting with that specific letter.
(Ex: F - Fatal Fury, Final Fantasy)
Any games played this year may count toward your progress. There is no end date so anyone can join at any time. The point of this challenge is to try and experience games from our backlog instead of just collecting them.
Bonus points for anyone who wants to add numbers into the mix.
Refreshing to see a new kind of challenge to inspire picking your next game through the year. I’m more than half-way on this list, even if there’s plenty of games I’ve done sharing some of the same letters.
A - Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield
B - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
C - Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection
D - Dragon Princess Anastasia
E
F - Final Fantasy VII
G - Grip: Combat Racing
H
I
J - Junkyard Simulator
K - Kids Of Hellas: Back To Olympus
L - Little Inferno
M - My Mundane Life Is Threatened By Tropes Of An RPG!!!
I added numbers to the letters. I will ignore the word “the” at the beginning of a title because too many of my games start with that. Games I tried and pushed to a final shelf that is not “played” will count too (for example the shelf “Not for me” or “motion sickness”), but I will not put them on the list with a link. Ongoing games that are put aside for the moment, that I will come back to again and again though, will be cursive.
Doesn’t matter when it was started. If you played it this year, it goes on the list! So many of you have already made so much progress. I feel like this challenge will take me much longer to complete…

A game that requires almost no interaction at all. For example, I finished ‘Idle Farm’, which you really only need to open and click some upgrades once a day. Then there are clicker games, which are also considered idle games, but since they take a lot more interaction and attention, I wouldn’t group them with the idle ones. An example of one of those would be ‘Gnorp Apologue’.
