What games in your backlog do you want to play this year?

Thanks for those suggestions, I will check out those titles for sure

They are great games. Not that I am knocking Dragon’s Crown, but it is not quite as refined or, in my mind, as fun.

You are limited by platform for Muramasa, however. It is on Wii and Vita, with the Vita benefiting from some additional content. Fortunately, Odin Sphere Leithrasir is is on PS4, PS3 and Vita. There is also the original PS2 version, simply titled Odin Sphere, but I recommend the remastered Leithrasir for new players as it has some significant mechanical and graphical improvements.

bmo I saw your post in january. Did you make any progress this year? That’s an epic good list.

My current list is:

EDIT beat this last week. Honestly this isn’t much of a game to ā€˜beat’ you just wander and wander eternally. The ā€˜meat’ of Skyrim isn’t in the main quest by any means imo

that will keep me busy for a few years at least. I’m making considerable progress! XD

More serioiusly here are some of the game i did complete this year that were backlogged. I feel like I accomplished something after looking back at what grouvee has tracked that I completed on the player shelf sorted by date order.

Simple yet elegant game. Must be a 28 year backlog!

I got to the very end of this game back in 2005! 11 year backlog.

4 year back log! Way worth playing I dont know why i stopped so early in it.

17 year back log!?

another 17 year backlog!! (And this was pretty good imo)

another 17 year or so backlog.

not a bad year.

@GigaDeathNullGolem, it was an interesting year. I did manage to play some of that list. I completed Beyond Eyes, Toren and Never Alone. All three were very interesting. I absolutely adore Never Alone, and Beyond Eyes was a very interesting experiment in visualization and representation. Toren had some flaws but had a distinct style and story that I found intriguing. I played a bit of Submerged but something tore me away from that game and I need to return to it sometime soon. As for Neverending Nightmares, Sunset and To the Moon, all three are still on my to play list.

In addition to the games on that list, other games I played/completed this year (again, not including projects from big studios) that I think were both interesting and enjoyable include Ghost of a Tale (disclaimer, I backed this game on Indiegogo), Layers of Fear, Burly Men at Sea, Oxenfree, Virginia, Firewatch, Stories: The Path of Destinies, Grow Home, Volume, Unravel, Nova-111, Three Fourths Home, and Nihilumbra. Throw in some AAA games, both old and new, and I feel like I had a lot of fun this year.

Your list looks excellent. I love the Metroid games, and Prime is a fantastic entry in the series. I picked up the Prime Trilogy this year, and it is currently on my backlog, with the hopes to play it in the near future.

Chrono Trigger is one of my absolute favourites. There is a lot of fun to have figuring out the various endings, especially if you go in blind and simply try your hand at defeating during different eras.

I still haven’t played Skyrim. I guess I should rectify that.

Enjoy your games
