I couldn’t find a topic talking about Theme parks so I made this one, The Theme parks and Amusement parks I’ve been to are,
Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Disneyland, Hersheypark, Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, and Elitch Gardens.
Epcot Center, Busch Gardens, Kings Dominion, Hershey Park, and ?Wildworld? I think that was the name. It no longer exists. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Six Flags.
I haven’t been to a Six Flags park either, but Six Flags now owns Kings Dominion and Kings Island so we’ve both have actually been to a Six Flags here’s a link to Six Flags official website; https://www.sixflags.com/america.
Luna Park, Wonderland, Old Sydney Town, Disney Paris, Thorp Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Lego Land, Sega World Sydney. Some of these no longer exist. ![]()
Oh wow, lots of fun overlap here.
I grew up in VA and OH, so I’ve been to Busch Gardens, King’s Dominion, Geauga Lake when that existed, Sea World when that was a thing, the enormous weird Six Flags they melded into, and Cedar Point. I’ve also been to Disney World, Epcot, MGM (whatever it’s called now), and Animal Kingdom. Oh and Disney Quest. That was awful.
I went to Cedar Point soon after the Top Thrill Dragster opened, then the tallest/fastest coaster in the world, and it was closed all dang day for repairs. It was the only ride in those parks I hadn’t been on. Finally that evening when we were leaving, we heard them announce over the PA that the ride was opening lol. I never did ride it before it closed and was re-worked to not kill people.
I haven’t been in an amusement park for a few years, but my go to one was this one, of course in Germany. I was living a 40 minute bus drive away from it and we had a year pass.
And the nicest one I have ever been, also Germany is this one:
I found it to be the cleanest and most relaxing one. Part of the park is an old forest themed around Grimm’s fairy tales, which takes you away from the noise and speed of the rest of the park for a while. It’s ideal for people like me who get overwhelmed easily, as it’s a great place to recharge your batteries. There are also cute little wooden houses, one for each fairytale with puppets and a narrator for the story.
I have never been interested in the roller coasters this is my favorite ride: Wiener Wellenflieger – Glückspilz | Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort Stress free flying in waves around a lucky shroom.
But oh boy have the ticket prices and the food prices gone up in these parks.
Hard for families to spent that much on a single day.
