The podcast is back! The Grouvee Show returns once again.
We’ve opened this main thread for episode releases, announcements, discussion questions, critiques, and whatever else you want to talk about.
Today’s episode discusses the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and all of its controversies (at the time of recording).
You may listen to the episode here (or via Spotify and Apple Podcasts)!
Our closing episode questions are:
Which Switch 2 games are you excited for?
Are you planning to pick up a Switch 2?
If you are in the US are you willing to pay extra tariff prices?
If you are outside the US, are you happy with the price?
A note for anyone who wants to access the transcript: there is manually transcribed text in SimpleCast, text that includes speaker names. It turns out that apps like Apple Podcasts don’t pull that transcript in and display it, they just generate their own transcript. The auto-generated transcript does not feature speaker names, and it also misnames things like the game Drag x Drive as Dragon Drive because the transcription software they use doesn’t understand that title.
However, I did link directly to the SinpleCast transcript in the episode notes. That link can be accessed in any podcast app, so if you use a podcast app like Apple Podcasts and want the official transcript instead of a shoddy auto-generated one, you can access it via the link provided.
Another episode of the Grouvee Show has released!
On this episode we’re joined by @shinespark as we talk about the latest gaming news, Shrek the Musical, and our love for indie games! We also review your responses to last episode’s questions, which I ended up learning how to use Excel to make these cute little charts. Who knew this podcast would result in me adding skills to my resume.
This episode’s closing questions are:
And here are those amazing charts I made for last week’s questions.
No idea. I never really got the distinction between indie and not indie until very late in my gaming life.
Outer Wilds, which is probably my favourite game period.
I don’t really follow releases. I just live for the moment, maaan.
I don’t have an xbox or gamepass and I don’t think I play any Microsoft-published game, so yeah?
Not liking Shrek is a red flag.
I think this is exacerbated by the fact that it’s a relatively late moniker of distinction, and things we’d consider Indie were not called indie in the early days.
This is a red flag!
TIL they Journey had an online component.
thank you. this was a delight to find out when i played it the first time. it’s a spoiler to know!
I didn’t know there were other characters. When I played it, it was just me.
I imagine it’s thinned out quite a lot. The first time I played another player showed up and then started guiding me towards objectives. We would shine our lights at each other to communicate. I suspect that if you played it long after launch you didn’t have the same chances of running into people.
When it first launched in PS3, and then later when it was given away as part of PS+ it had a large pool of players. It was a very cool experience.
TIL Georgey can’t distinguish between a person and a bot
I don’t really remember when or how I played it. It was a long time ago so I might have played a pirated version with no online support.
