I tried the “Tell Me What To Play” button for the first time today because I just finished a game and wasn’t sure what to play next. But the first two suggestions that came up were games that I’ve already played. I know that people do replay games sometimes (though I rarely do), but maybe there should be an option in your Profile to exclude games that you’ve marked as “Played” from the “Tell Me What To Play” hopper? Or if you can’t create user-specific options for this feature, can you at least set a parameter so that only games that you finished over a year ago show up? One of the two games that were suggested was one that I finished just a few months ago, and that finish date is in the system. Just a suggestion. Thanks!
The button works based on what shelf you’re looking at. If you’re looking at your backlog shelf, it’ll only pick games from that shelf. If you’re looking at the “ALL” view, it’s going to pick from any game in your collection. I’m not going to divulge all of the secrets of the Tell Me What To Play button, but let’s just say it’s a little bit “random.”

When I’m on a shelf, apply the “Platform on shelf” filter and then use the “Tell Me What To Play”, it say that the shelf is empty. Is this a bug? Is there a way to get what to play suggestion based on an specific platform?
I’ll look at it and see if I broke it in an update recently. I didn’t think I did, but who knows!
It was broken. It should be working now. It also wasn’t respecting the All Platforms filter, but that’s fixed now too!
