two hours in and i met my second singing character. they knew we all loved myla and have at least doubled the singing characters for the sequel. cant wait to see them become crushed by madness or despair!

Act 2 spoilers: Going from the Underworks to the Citadel. A+ storytelling through gameplay. How you have to pay for single use benches as those higher up just leech off your rosaries? How the enemies barely drop any rosaries. To how the first bench at the Citadel is a free, permanent bench. Such a good buildup.

Just starting out, but I’m immediately struck by the extra personality they’re adding through Hornet’s written dialogue and little gibberish voice lines! Love that she’s a got a sort of Zagreus from Hades thing going on, where she’s confident and collected, but still unfailingly polite to everybug she meets.

I really like it. It’s a nice contrast to the original and enables it to feel like its own thing. It would also be odd if the once vocal Hornet was suddenly quiet. I’m very happy with what they’ve done with her character so far.

ACT 2
Cogwork Dancers fight was soooooooooo peak. Best fight of the game so far. Basically Mantis Lords but even more peak.

My kid was asking me whether I prefer silksong to hollow knight. I declined to make a choice at this point but I did immediately note how I enjoy playing as a character rather than a vessel.
