Placeholders?

So this is a situation I was afraid might happen: I want to add a game to my Grouvee backlog, but there’s no corresponding entry on IGDB. And since IGDB doesn’t seem to accept submissions from just anyone, that leaves me with a frustrating discrepancy that I’m constantly having to remind myself to search for.

Is there any possibility of adding some kind of feature to Grouvee that would at the very least allow for personalized placeholder entries? It doesn’t even have to be visible to other users, but placeholders would ensure that our personal backlogs are accurate, and not dependent on whether something slips through the cracks on a third-party site.

(The game in question: Dear Magical Girls on Steam)

I hadn’t noticed that https://www.grouvee.com/games/create/ has been deactivated. That is indeed a little frustrating.

Because data now flows in from IGDB, we do not have the ability to create entries on the Grouvee side. All new games will need to be submitted through IGDB, after which they are imported here.

But not everyone can submit through IGDB, that’s the issue. It took days for this particular entry to turn up (and, in turn, flow through to Grouvee). It’s a friction point that didn’t exist before, hence the irritation.

I don’t disagree, but we are too understaffed to keep up with the data submission in the old database and the switch to IGDB enabled a lot of new backend data connections that make for much cleaner data with greater possibilities. It does unfortunately come at the cost of the inability to create entries here, but IGDB has been quite good at getting updates up quickly. But there are always gaps, so I empathize.

Edit: I do note that IGDB did get an entry up for Dear Magical Girls and that it’s pushed over to Grouvee now.
