New Grouvee Look

I’ve released a real big visual refresh to the site today. By no means am I done with it, but I have it at a point that I’m happy with how it looks, and I can start working more on getting to the features you guys want.

Some of the bigs that have changed:

  • You can easily find all of your reviews, likes, playthrough data, statuses, etc. on your profile pages. It’s all there and organized in their own tabs.
  • I’ve made updates to the editor for reviews, statuses, comments, etc. You can upload images, embed videos easily, and mark things as spoilers now.
  • I’ve made it so you can upload box art for games that have broken images. If a game has a broken image, just click upload better box art, and put something better there! All image uploads will approved by curators.
  • The activity filters on the front page are hopefully a little bit clearer how they work. If not, let me know.
  • I change the fonts on the site. I think they’re cleaner. Let me know if you don’t think so.
  • I removed the link for feedback on each page. I want people to post feedback on the forums.
  • I’m sure I’m forgetting to mention more here. I’ll have to go back and look at my commit notes.

I’ll also put up a blog post about this stuff soon.

Let me know what you think!!

I love it! =D

I especially like the profile changes, it’s nice to be able to find everything easier now!

Looks gorgeous, thanks a bunch!

@Hishtagat, I set it so Grouvee will automatically accept your box art submissions now. I know you asked for that feature a long time ago!

A wonderful update. Looks so clean I could eat my dinner off it.

I really like it! I just have one question though… What do I do if I’ve found better box art for a game I’ve already uploaded an image to? Can I replace it somehow?

I’ve gone ahead and made you a curator in the system. You should see an Upload button on every page now, and your submissions will be approved automatically now too!

Thanks Peter, I’ll use it wisely!

I uploaded images in three old pc games, seems to work fine!!
but I could not find such “art boxes”, only screenshots of the games’ main screens
I hope this is OK, if so I’ll complete other abandonware rarities as well.

All the ones you’ve uploaded look good to me @titusfox. I love it! If you ever find actual box art for the games, you can always go back and upload those instead if you want.

perfect! I think I’ll be uploading mainly covers of old games that don’t have a proper “cover art” (non-commercial, freeware, shareware, forgotten  etc) so main screenshots will work fine, but of course I’ll prior packagings
