Finally watched Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie after getting my bluray copy of it and it was glorious. As a fan back from the webseries and then to the TV show I loved it. Matt and Jay are so effortlessly funny and just a joy to watch just hang out. Looking forward so much to season 3 of the show.

Some quick media thoughts:
King of the Hill connects with me on a spiritual lesson because like Hank Hill, I also feel the need to take care of my insane neighbors. There is a trans episode in the new season, and it warmed my heart.
I saw Minions and Monsters and The Odyssey on the same day, and I preferred the Minions. There is a lot more power behind the Minions’ quest be understood than there is in Odysseus’ quest home. Chris Meledandri could do this on a Mario movie. I hope Miyamoto will let him.
The Invite is a great date movie as it’ll either end with you and your significant other boning or getting a divorce.
Bradley Cooper presents Is This Thing On lives in the shadow of Maestro’s failure, but it might be Cooper’s best movie. Arnett is just a compelling lead and Laura Dern matches his frustrated partner at every turn. It also avoids the comedian-movie error of pumping the entire thing with big name comedians. The biggest name in this is Dave Atell whose appearance has not even been commemorated on wikipedia. Peyton Manning is in it though, giving a performance I would describe as Peyton Manning. He gets to be there during the scene where Laura Dern finds out her husband she is separated from (Will Arnett) is doing stand up and talks about their sex lives. I don’t know. That’s cinema to me!
I was enjoying Widow’s Bay but then my jailbroken firestick that my drug dealing neighbor sold me stopped working. So I only got about halfway through, but it is a great show if you like big performances. didn’t get to finish Hacks yet for the same reason, but I’ll be back here to tell you about my beloved Jean Smart when I do!

I thought I had a strong stomach for horror because I’ve watched so much of it over the years; I hadn’t been freaked out for some time. Anyway, The Walten Files 5 made me feel sick with dread. So good and so amazing it’s just free to watch on Youtube to upset the whole world. I’m not one for analog horror or even mascot horror but it does both so well. Such a glow up from where it started, too. Even classified as an “episode”, it might as well be a full-blown movie.
Became a fan last year watching their self-contained short “The Return of the Pumpkin Rabbit” and I will be as long as they keep scaring me more than literally Anything Else in the horror space!

Did nobody but me watch Hacks? Am I alone in enjoying the antics of Deb and Ava? I finally finished, and that shit had me tearing up and cracking up. Idk if there has ever been a more dynamic comedic duo at the center of another show. Deb and Ava really go through it all and grow together and, most importantly, make me LMFAOROFL. I will miss them. I would love the Jimmy and Kayla spin off, but I agree with Paul Downs. You can’t make a finale all about accepting death, and then be like “just kidding!”

Just finished Lord of the Flies on Netflix. Brutal. Piggy’s death was made to be as drawn out heart wrenching as possible. I think they flubbed the ending. Otherwise, gorgeous cinematography, sumptuous scoring, and engaging all the way through.
