He’s obviously never seen Shawn of the Dead.
always a wonderful experience to express yourself without fear of judgment
We were both joking. I assumed you’d be used to our humour now, having had both of us on the podcast. I meant no offence, and I’m sure BMO didn’t either.
I will always judge you, and I’ll always do it with love
I’m legitimately curious now.
i have seen and enjoyed shaun of the dead and the rest of the cornetto trilogy and the rest of edgar wright’s post SotD oeuvre. I would say they similarly bunt the horror in favor of comedy.
i know im just giving y’all a hard time in return
I mean, you’re talking to someone who rarely ever finds horror scary, so I don’t think something like Sean of the Dead sans comedy would have scared me. It’s just such an excellent satire and homage to the genre that I love it. Do you know that the idea grew out of something they did on the show Spaced? There’s an episode that starts with a Zombie sequence, and it was so good they expanded that idea into a film. So for me Sean of the Dead was doubly exciting because it was like a big payoff to something started in one of my favourite shows. I think it took ages for Spaced to make it to North America so I think most people not living I the UK at the time didn’t get to experience the Spaced sequence before Sean of the Dead, which is a shame because there are a number of nods to Spaced in the film.
Spoilers in the article for anyone who hasn’t seen the film, but I’ll be honest that the scene in question did make me squirm a little, which is a welcome rarity.
I came here to say that I really liked the new Superman
Going to see it Friday, very much looking forward to it.
I’m pretty excited for it.
I’ve never been a huge Superman fan, but this movie just looks so much fun! I really keen to see how the immigration angle works, too.
I was a big Superman and Green Lantern kid. I still have lots of first run things like the entire Superman death run. And I liked the Dick Donner films as a little kid quite a bit. I really enjoy Christopher Reeve’s screen presence. But I’m also excited just because it looks fun.
When you said “first run” for a second I thought you meant Action Comics. Man, that would be awesome!
For me he’s one of those characters that I’m happy to see pop up in other/ team books, but I’d never regularly buy his solo series. All Star Superman is incredible though.
would you say it was… super?
Well, it certainly wasn’t a bird. Or a plane.
I’m generally not one to completely diss a movie based off it’s trailer alone, but Gods DAMN this looks awful!
Just got back from seeing Superman. Absolutely incredible! One of the top 5 superhero movies!
Today our friend came over and we had lunch and went to see Superman; that was nice
