Movies and TV, Anyone?

This time I watched Little Shop of Horrors ! Another one free on YouTube atm

– FEED ME SEYMOUR ! It’s a Piranha Plant. FROM SPACE

–Sheesh, another movie with an abusive boyfriend being…relieved of his duties ! I’d never want to be like the Evil Dentist. Though, wanting to play with handcuffs…relatable : ]

– Hey, that’s Bill Murray, isn’t it. Both Louis and Peter from Ghostbusters are here

– This is kind of like if Sesame Street were a horror movie, isn’t it? The urban environment…the puppets…everyone’s singing all the time!

– The three lovely ladies who always show up to sing…they’re kind of like the Muses from [Disney’s] Hercules

Music in this is incredible. Also pitch perfect casting. Just a great fun flick.

We were finally able to watch the second episode of Uzumaki on Adult Swim. Despite its flaws, I still found it engaging. And disturbing.

Colin Stetson’s score is cool.

Just finished with the Agatha All Along series.

That was surprisingly good and the queerest thing Marvel has done. Two gay kisses!!! OMG!!!

Oooh, the others were good. Pitty it’s on Shudder.

Finished Agatha All Along. I still don’t get why everyone was losing their minds about it. The twist at the end of the second last episode was kind of cool, but the “twist” in the last ep wasn’t all that surprising.

I think the main issue was that I didn’t really like any of the characters all that much, even those I was already familiar with. Nothing grabbed me at all.

On the comics side of things they changed a lot. I really didn’t like how throw away Death felt or that they basically gave Agatha Thanos’ original motivation.

All said, it’s one of the poorer Marvel shows IMO.

Had my waitress friend over yesterday to make a Hawai’ian Pizza and watch her favorite: The Nightmare Before Christmas ! I suggested we should try to watch all the Tim Burton movies [she’s a fan]; we’re thinking Batman next

Then I finally saw Superman the Movie, which I’ve had in my collection for a while. It was pretty cool,

Superman was in it

–Flying so fast he goes back in time ? Isn’t that a little silly, even for Superman ? Oh well

– I wouldn’t’ve had Luthor wear a wig; being bald is kind of his thing, right ? It’s hard to tell him apart from Otis unless they’re speaking

– I watched the Pitch Meeting for it; waitress got me into those. As well as the CinemaSins, which is my custom

– One of them pointed out, wait…he can fly fast enough to go back in time, but not to catch both missiles ?!

– Oh yeah, and the intro was a little too long for me. I liked when his mother had Cheerios, though

The BF and I finished Hysteria! over the weekend. It’s pretty good, and the ending is fun, leaving a lot of loose ends to ponder on. The villains are so utterly unlikeable that it’s a genuine thrill to see them get their comeuppance.

We are starting Hysteria right now.

i saw Anora which simultaneously is sean baker at his most naturalistic and his most funny. there are scenes which when read in the moment are farcical- like a coen brothers fiasco. but when the movie reflects on those scenes later, it doesn’t chastise you for laughing. however, it does remind you that these things happened to ani, a character we like. the second half of the film is brimming with the sort of constant tension you would expect from the safdies, not from baker. mikey madison is excellent in this. i hadn’t seen her in anything before, but her performance here is transformative. great film that i’m glad i saw on the big screen.

Only other thing ive seen her in was Better Things with Pamala Adlon. She was fine in that, played eldest petulant teen daughter.

Watching Dragon Ball Daima because I grew up watching Dragon Ball and will die watching Dragon Ball.

It also feels like a comeback of the funnier lighter OG series, which is great.

I liked that I didn’t have to listen to twenty minutes of yelling in the first episode!

When you say OG series, do you mean Dragon Ball sans Z?

Yes. The first series.

That is the only series I was ever able to get into, and I liked it quite a lot. I just really never enjoyed Z. Would you recommend Dragon Ball Daima in light of that?

Absolutely. The first episode is a mini lore dump that will put you up to date with what you missed.

We watched Superman 2 this time !

– Superman 2 was in it

– Luthor bald in jail, but then gets hair later ! Sheesh. Unlike him, Eve does not become a Prison Babe…but, strange that they would continue to work together after last time [?!]

– Lois deduces that [SPOILER] is secwetly Superman. Some people are always saying, the glasses wouldn’t work ! But I think there would be a number of factors, really

– Superman had s-x with Lois [?!] They must have had S-X ! But…is it safe to do that with him?! I mean, physically

– My copy is specified as the Richard Donner cut, and I noticed that it was a little different from the version described in the Pitch Meeting. When Superman didn’t throw a cellophane S at Non, I punched a hole through the wall

– Oh, oh. And I was thinking, after seeing the first one…now, can’t he just use the time travel thing anytime anything gets too out of hand ? And he DOES [at least in this version]. Now is he gonna do that again in Superman 3 ?!

– Kneel before Zod ! Oh, and Luthor should have some more kryptonite with him; it might’ve made it safer to negotiate with them. Stupid evil genius.
