How to request games to be added to database?

I am wondering is Hitman Go should be split into two entries, one for iOS and Android and one for PS4, Vita and Windows (the definitive edition). The latter appears to be a different iteration of the game with enhanced visuals. Until iOS and Android recieve the definitive edition it seems to be slightly inaccurate to list the game as the same across platforms. Thoughts?

Hello. May you please add Playing History - The Plague and Tokyo Hosto? Playing History - The Plague on Steam Tokyo Hosto on Steam

The platforms have been added.

Looks like this was added:

Based on how things are handled on Giant Bomb (and what we use as a measuring stick for our decisions), this doesn’t constitute a new entry. They are the same game at the core.

These games have been added:

I’m not sure on this one. It seems to me it is considered to be part of the Sonic & Knuckles entry. I can see how it could be something separate. What do you think @peter?

Man, that’s a tough one. We have it mapped to Sonic & Knuckles here on Grouvee, and under the Wikipedia page for Sonic & Knuckles, it states: ā€œIt was released on Steam as Sonic 3 & Knuckles.ā€

How different is the Steam version?

I understand, but given that an edition with higher quality visuals has not been released for iOS or Android would this not be a similar instance as something like the Uncharted collection for PS4? Uncharted 1-3 for PS4 are, at their core, the same games as on PS3. However they have their own entry in the database. It would seem that Hitman Go falls in the same camp. It has been remastered and ported to PS4, Vita and PC and that new version is exclusive to those platforms. I’m just curious when a separate database entry is warranted, as with Uncharted, and when it is not.

We don’t have a hard and fast set of rules to determine. Giant Bomb is used as a base for most of the database, so we use them as a guide in how we categorize stuff. Giant Bomb differentiates between games and releases. The Hitman Go for consoles is a new release of the same game. Here is an excerpt from the FAQ on Giant Bomb:

ā€œGame pages are organized by title, not by individual releases. As such, there is a release section to every game, which will allow you to document all the different regions the game has come out in, as well as the different platforms it has spanned, and compilations that it’s been a part of. Note that gold, limited, collectors, GOTY (etc.) editions of games go under the release category, they do not get their own game page. This includes compilations of games which may feature several other games long with the title in question. There are specific exceptions to the rule with games that come bundled as one package and appear on a certain platform by only that means (such as The Orange Box), but generally these are all releases. If you’re not sure if it should be a release or not, PM the mods and they’ll give you an answer.ā€

The reason they have Uncharted as a separate entry is because of the specific exception mentioned where a bundle as one package is only available on a platform by that means.

That makes sense. It only came about because I attempted to verify the platforms for the new release to influence a potential purchase. So I was curious as to where the line is drawn. Thanks for the clarification.

No problem. We struggle with this as people request stuff. Sometimes we just have to use our gut. It also stinks because some older stuff in the database seems to break the general rules. Once @peter has a merge system in place, we can clean up some of that stuff though.

Hi all! I hope this is the right place to request this. I’ve noticed that on the page where I can edit the import of my steam games there are some games that just are on Steam but are not on Grouvee so I thought you might want to know so that you can add them. I can only post two links at a time though. Is there a way I can mass list them?

I have a crap ton more to list but I’ll just leave these for now.

Give listing them a try now. I whitelisted the Steam URL, and I think it’ll let you post more than 2 links to Steam now.

Can you add Adam and Eve: The Game - Chapter 1?

Ha, I’m glad I didn’t push the button on creating this game. I had the screen up but hadn’t filled in a description yet.

But we love duplicates. Just hit the button anyway!

Nope, I still can only post two links.
