Facebook Sections

Interesting! I just added a new shelf:
#to-play a shelf for games I intend to play next…
(I ended up using Backlog for games started but not finished & games that I wanted to play, but didn’t have the time & most likely wont ever get around to playing…)(not 100% sure was that the intended use for Backlog!?)

Anyway, Facebook decided all-of-a-sudden to feature a Grouvee Section on my Profile!
Cool! I wonder how this will work? Will Facebook update the Grouvee Section now with any new games I add, or just update games added into this particular shelf. It would make more sense if I could manipulate the facebook grouvee section to only reflect games added to the Played Shelf!
–is that something we can influence from here, or is it something that lies completely in the hands of Facebook?

a picture is worth a 1000 words!
This is what I mean, for example on Goodreads, they have this function to manipulate what shelves Facebook shows, and also a ‘button’ to add all books. (to add books already on the shelf, that facebook missed)

*except instead of ‘Want to Read’, I think it would make more sense to feature ‘Read’ (or ‘Played’ for Grouvee)

Hmm…
I added another game to my playing shelf.
The Groovee Facebook section seems to no longer show new games…
What shelf does the Facebook Groove Widget actually reflect?

OK, I guess I will just have to deactivate it for now…
until I hear more from here!

*you should consider looking into it tho, a working Facebook section/widget, would be a great resource—free advertising for Groovee on Facebook!
…but I know, Busy Busy Busy!

Whoops, I guess I kind of missed this post back in Februray!

It’s been a long time since I looked at this code. I remember I made it so that if you added a game to any shelf that wasn’t already in your collection, it was supposed to add it to your facebook widget.

I’ll look into this more if more people are interested! Last I looked there weren’t a ton of people that were using it, so I kind of stopped working on it. If it’s something people want improved, I’ll definitely move it back up the list.

 no problem…
Its also been a little while since I have been gaming! (I got caught up in my other free-time hobbies!)
*but I think your right, judging by the traffic/likes/clicks (lack of!) this Post has received, It seems to have generated little interest…

That sounds like a pretty good solution as well! (or simply the played shelf would be fine as well!)

Maybe its just me? (it probably is!) But I like those Widgets! I have ‘Trakt.tv’ filling out the Movie & TV-Show Widgets, ‘Goodreads’ filling out the Books Widget…
I thought it would be cool to have Groovee fill out the Video Games Widget!
If enough people use the Widget on Facebook then, It might attract more users from Facebook to the Groovee Website!?
*but I get that Facebook might be a difficult platform for working Code!? I think they often change things around, make more (oppressive) rules… etc.

I just got back on Facebook after years of not having it. I haven’t messed around with any widgets for that kind of stuff, but depending on how it works, I am interested. I would prefer some of the other talked about changes to the site before improving this functionality though.

 You have no idea how often they change their stuff. I’ll take a look at it and see if I can’t get it working again at least.
