I first encountered day of the tentacle as a full talkie trailer attached to some other LucasArts game I was playing. Probably Tie Fighter? Anyway: I watched that trailer over and over. I understood the continuity by way of reading about Maniac Mansion in Nintendo Power, also over and over.

I didn’t play the game until years later, when I brought the Internet into our home and I got access to ScummVM.

DOTT is great. I should probably try to play it with my kids again. I bet they’re old enough to actually get it, now.

Having finished this game last year, I feel proud in having covered the essential classics of Lucasarts adventure games just recently. Fun and provably groundbreaking for its time!
