I agree - column with “New Releases” is awful today. I suppose “adult filter” option can be difficult to apply. But not every single game is worth mentioning. Maybe there should be “Major releases” column?
This is probably possible but also potentially complicated. @peter can weigh in, but even if an NSFW tag is added anything already in the database that has a future release date will still show up unless that tag is added to the game manually. Additionally since that tag would be on the Grouvee side, rather than the GiantBomb data source, any new games that are pulled from GiantBomb will also require manual NSFW tagging. Not that I’m saying it’s not worth doing, but it introduces an issue whereby the admins have to search for potential games to tag, which always opens up the possibility that we’ll miss something and it will show up in the feed.
Perhaps there’s a way to make it so the new release column can be toggled/hidden. That way you can toggle it at work, ensuring that nothing inappropriate shows up when you’re somewhere public.
I actually have a way of telling my script that generates the new releases to ignore a game. We have to manually do it on the backend, but it can be done.
At first I thought you were kidding around about the name of the game “SlutWitch”, but I should have known better. I have flagged the two offending games for now. Let me know if you see any other NSFW stuff like that.
my guess is these titles are actually by the same entity (not necessarily developer). all the banners look real similiar and they just started happening. In any case it would be nice to give a user the option to ignore some games but i have no idea how the site could be set up to let users ignore certain kinda of sidebar releases or status updates for games they may simply not have interest in.
Yeah, I need to get the themes imported into Grouvee. I bet it’s consistent enough that it would keep a good chunk of those games off of the front page.
