What happened to Assassins Creed series?

Really man, what happened ?
after revelations its storyline is getting worse and worse.

What in particular is making you lose interest? Is there a specific direction you’d like to see the story go?

Not only the storyline, but everything is getting bad. Only the graphics are improving.
In black flag we are a pirate and in rogue we are a templar.
I think Ubisoft should stop making this franchise.
Once upon a time it was my favourite game. Assassins never show their identity , they always wear their hood but the new assassins never wear their hood and dont even use hidden blade.
I think after ezio , no assassins are born.

I recall someone on IGN suggesting Ubisoft make two different franchises that release every other year: Assassin’s Creed and Pirate’s Creed. I was a devout follower of the franchise, but after ACIII, I lost the itch to play it.

Ubisoft is messing up almost everything they do. They rush too much their games and the result is… meh (The Crew I’m looking at you).

This might be a little off topic, but I thought it would be a good place to start. I’ve never played any of the Assassin’s Creed games. When the series first came out I was under the impression that it was a steath-focused game, and I don’t like stealth games. Looking at it now, though, I think I might have been mistaken about that.

If I wanted to start now, which one would you recommend that I play first? I usually hate to start anywhere but the first game in a series, but I’ve heard that the first one is a little rough and the series changed a lot after that one. I’d hate to be put off of the series by playing the first game if that’s not a good indicator of how the later games are.

Assassin’s Creed II is a solid realization of everything the 1st game set out to do and not a bad place to start if you’re looking to play the series. However, I’d recommend starting with Assassin’s Creed IV since it has the least focus on the modern day meta-narrative (so you won’t be confused or feel “out of the loop”), and all the naval aspects of the game are fantastic (i.e. exploring, combat, customizing your ship, shanties!)

I plan on playing my first Assassin’s Creed game too and while 2 definitely sounds like the better game, I personally might start with the original since it’s the only one set in the Middle East/Jerusalem. It’ll be cool if they continue to try out a variety of historical settings in the future. maybe Eastern Europe, North Africa, or India… the possibilities are endless!

I also never played any of the Assassin’s Creed games. There were just better options last gen and now the games are getting worse and worse.

When it comes to pure stealth games, you can do much better. Right now, I’m almost done with the original Thief: Dark Project with graphical mods. The level design and immersive atmosphere makes this game so amazing and it actually paved the way for stealth games like Assassin’s Creed or Dishonored.

I even prefer Tenchu to Assassin’s Creed.
