I have been making pretty great progress on _Silent Hill 3_. My goal was to finish it in February but that didn’t happen. But regardless I only have like 3-4 areas left in the game and then I’m done! I’m not sure what the next game is in the series. I’ll have to look but it isn’t on my challenge list anyway so I gotta start focusing on something else but I do want to eventually play through the series so we’ll see what happens. I haven’t made any progress on _Puyo Pop_ so I think that’s going to be the next game I focus on and in between rounds of that, I’ll be working on _Kunitsu-gami_. I got past the part I was stuck at. I’ve hit another hard side objective but I think I can do it without too much problems. It’s just not super easy to do. I feel like the end is in sight and I’m excited. I love this game so much. I’ll be very happy to finish it. ---

Do you… do you all _see_ how many edits I have on my Millennium Challenge post? It’s of drinking age now. My list has had to change quite a bit… but some stuff has stayed the same! I’ve continued having troubles with my very old PS3… it’s like when I fix up a leak, another springs out. But at the very least will I be able to play the Ratchet & Clank games that are on there before I get it repaired proper to play all those long-term JRPGs I love so much on. The poor thing’s just old and tired. Same, little buddy. ☹ But… I have been playing some stuff. Six games down now, twenty to go. **Tokyo Xtreme Racer** rules, and even if I’ve played enough to know definitely I love it, I’ll certainly be returning to that game to vroom around throughout the year. **Pools** was my first proper replay of the year; I first played it when it launched on Steam, but recently played through it on PS5 where it ran and looked much better than on my dinky hardware. While as a concept I find the “liminal space” thing creepy, I do think a lot of renders of it come off a bit hokey and tropey. I think this game does the rare thing of managing to just put you in these vacant spaces and just walk about and get totally lost in them. Leans more towards being a vibe than being creepy, but I think there is space for the two to co-exist together. I will take a meditative and atmospheric experience such as this over many modern horror filled with jump-scares and chase sequences any day of the week. I got scared at the midnight launch of the Nintendo Switch because I forgot where I walked in and got really lost in a big dark public mall. So… _y’know._ I’m a big jittery baby. I like horror games though! Oh I replayed **We Love Katamari** too. I’ve played it like every year since it’s come out. It’s now been over twenty years. Still one of the best games ever ever _ever._ Gonna be splitting my time up between FuRyu’s cry-centric action-RPGs _Crystar_ and _CRYMACHINA_ and playing YUZUSOFT’s recent official English release of 2012’s Only Game About Horny Vampire’s Living on a Casino Island, _Dracu-Riot!,_ and Key’s recent _Reflection Blue_ remake of their own _Summer Pockets_. All I know about the latter game is I love Keys’ work and I think I get to play ping pong in it. I’m excited. Anyway, that’s it from me for now… more games coming soon. Am I making good time? I’ve got _no idea_, I don’t know maths! I do know **FACTS** , though: one is I love vimdeo games! 🙂 ---

Dang, for 2017 I was finally gonna play through Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, but it turns out the game doesn’t run at all on modern Ryzen PCs! Supposedly there’s a workaround with some random file from Github, but I’m not sure I’m willing to go that far. ---

I had no idea, that sucks. Edit: I see that it’s only if you have a Ryzen processor and an NVIDIA GPU. I presume you have both, yes? ---

Ayep. I’m sure I’ll cave and use the workaround eventually. But for this year’s 2017 entry I’m now thinking I’ll finish Super Cloudbuilt, instead. It’s one of my absolute favorite 3D platformers and I’ve never even seen the ending! ---

Maybe jumping the gun a little bit seeing as it’s only June, and honestly I’m loving the millennium challenge and would be cool with doing it again, but I randomly thought of a new format for next year and wanted to run it by y’all. Basically, the idea would be to pool together a bunch of small challenge prompts from the community, and combine them into a big 5x5 bingo board. Each square would be something unique like “monosyllabic title”, “bottom 100 Grouvee game”, or “genre you never play”, and then folks could either go for a bingo or try to hit all 25 squares. Does that sound like something we might want to do? And what could be some of the micro-challenges, if so? ---

This is a wonderful idea!! There’s lots of fun challenge the community could come up with. Even if it scares me… I _will_ play an RTS for the sake of bingo. For some micro-challenges think I’d suggest: - ROULETTE: pick a game library (Steam, GOG, etc) and use a number generator/select at random a game you own but haven’t played - DEMAKE: play the original version of a game that has received a total remake—or vice versa - TEAM PLAYER: play an online multiplayer game with a fellow Grouvee community member - CONTRARIAN: play a kart racer that _isn’t_ a Mario Kart - THE GAME—THE MOVIE: give your thumbs a break! Watch a movie based on a game - THE MOVIE—THE GAME: play a game that is a tie-in to a movie - THE @BMO SPECIAL: play a game with a fishing minigame in it - ARNOLD-TAILORED: Play a game James Arnold Taylor voice acts in These are fun to come up with! ---

Spicy take: LittleBigPlanet Karting is pretty good, and its battle mode is better than any battle mode that’s ever been featured in a Mario Kart game. ---

I finished the challenge, yay! Had a great time with it overall, really appreciated how it pushed me to play shorter and more overlooked games I usually wouldn’t give a second glance. Favorite new find was Perfect Tides, which is maybe one of the best adventure games ever made. Favorite replay was Super Cloubuilt, which I finally managed to beat. And my least favorite was Metal Slug Advance, which was frankly pretty depressing to witness. ---

Amazing work, seriously!!! I had so many hurdles that came up this year that got in the way of me finishing this challenge. That said, I got a decent chunk of games on my list played and will keep working at it when I can! Both Perfect Tides games are now on my radar and wishlist, where they shoulda been the whole time. Just made a few little adjustments to my millennium challenge to make it a bit easier on myself to polish off (but not too easy). It is _adorable_ how many long-form visual novels I thought I’d have time to complete. ---
