not sure why but I never noticed it being there until now. This is going to save me a ton of clicks in the future, absolutely love it!
Where is this link taking its data from? For example, why is there a steam link for Potion Permit (2022) | Grouvee but not The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily (2025) | Grouvee ? Both games have a link to their respective steam page configured in the websites > stores section.
I just added that in the last week or so. It’s pulling data from all of the years of Grouvee users linking Steam games to Grouvee games. If no one has ever gone into the steam/import_help page and linked The Great Villainess, it won’t have the data. I’m sure there are some incorrect links, but I actually haven’t run across one yet. IGDB does have this data, I just haven’t gotten around to adding it to the import. In theory I wouldn’t need to have Grouvee users link the games if I was downloading the IGDB data.
I had Root (2020) | Grouvee in my “Playing” shelf (or maybe the non-igdb version of it?) but it has been incorrectly auto-replaced by Root (2015) | Grouvee - can you check up what happened there?
TBH the Root 2015 game also looks cool so if this is guerilla marketing it is working
Let me look into this. I’m suspecting it’s because IGDB gave me a huge list of GB → IGDB mappings, and I’m sure some of them are mismapped. I can see 3 different GB games were mapped to this 2015 entry. I’ll go back through the game backups I have and see if I can figure it out. I’m sure there are more of these out there. I was just looking at Giant Bomb’s wiki the other day, and there appears to be no way to look up games in their database by that old Giant Bomb ID I have stored. I hope they have those stored somewhere and put them back on their new pages at some point.
That is indeed what happened. That mapping list they gave me had GB ID 80377 (2020 game) mapped to IGDB 24036 (https://www.igdb.com/games/root). They also had the correct game (GB ID 51605) mapped to it. This scenario is also why I built that move data functionality. I knew there were going to be screw ups, and at least people can move their data pretty quickly. I’m not too sure what else I can really do. Maybe I can create a forum thread for people to report them so other people can move their data.
I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but there’s this odd thing I’ve observed. When searching for “Spider-Man”, I only get a very small portion of hits, namely the ones that only and simply titled “Spider-Man”, and nothing else.
If I fully type out the title, for example “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions”, it works. But only if it’s exactly as it is in the database, “spider-man shattered dimensions” gives me nothing. When typing “The Amazing Spider-Man” I get that game, but “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” doesn’t show up in my searches. The weird thing is, if I search for “shattered dimensions” it finds the games. Maybe there’s something weird with the word “Spider-Man” itself?
Although there might be others, I’ve only noticed this for Spider-Man, other series like “Pokémon” and “Splinter Cell” work as intended. I don’t know if this is only on my end or not.
I think I just need to add the dash character to my special characters list of things to ignore in search. I’ll look at it here soon. Pokemon works because aliases are properly setup. Spider man not so much.
I got it fixed. I’m “sanitizing” the - character into a space character now, so if a game title has - it gets replaced with a space character in the search engine and when you type it into the search box. So if you type in “Spider man” you’ll get all the games that have spider-man in the title now. Seems to be working the way it should now. Let me know if you think anything is missing or off.
Hi, I’m not sure what’s the state of the import is but I have still games (all dlcs) which didn’t convert to the new profile.
All of them have a igdb equivalent. Is the merging process still ongoing and I just have to wait?
It’s still ongoing. We’ve finished about 95%. Kind of stalled out on it a little bit recently. I need to allow the community to suggest/merge the games at this point because most of the ones left are ones that have less than 100 activities at this point. Most likely the people looking at them will do it right.
I just merged all of these except the tomb raider one. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Pack (2016) | Grouvee Is this the right one?
Hi Peter, thank you for your answer. It looks like igdb is doing some homework on themselves. Their message on the blood ties page is: “Data validation on this page is currently pending. You can review and help validation by leaving a comment on the following: Game page contribution (NA Standard)”. Yeah, it’s clear that the thing listed under their DLC with the name 20 Year Celebration Pack is the “correct” thing to merge it into based on the box art. However, I don’t want to do it in case they decide to merge that thing into the bundle entry with the same name and then they go and create a whole new DLC entry for Blood Ties. I see they have the pending Data validation thing to change the name, which I upvoted, but they occasionally do some whacky stuff over there. My only suggestion is to go upvote the name change on the DLC and it’ll move up their queue. They are generally way behind on data queue stuff.
Understandable. I guess SE repacked the dlcs for the release on mac (when I’ve read the steam news correctly). No idea why then the baba yaga dlc is still a thing. If idgb really want keep themselves updated about re-releases and bundles they would have keep an eye on super old games that have subsequently changed. Sounds a bit too ambitous, I thought they would use AI or whatever but after looking up some games profiles, it doesn’t seems like it. For example

no devs, no publisher, only one system, I guess they will update it when the time comes or just concentrate on big games.
I guess it’s similar to something I noted previously, but just noticed that platforms for Swordsman VR (2020) | Grouvee don’t fully sync.
The original PC releas was changed to steamvr at some point, bu the new platform is not selectable on the game page.
That’s because Grouvee hasn’t properly updated since 4/1 because of IGDB returning a bogus date on some company’s start date of 20022. I fixed the import code to make it so it won’t crash on bogus data like that and kicked off a new update. It should be good here in a few minutes.
Minor bug, not related to migration, if the magical science button hits something you have already rated on desktop it looks as above.
Okie doke, this is fixed. I also fixed the bug where the button was only pulling from the first shelf you looked at and wouldn’t pull from a different shelf unless you did a browser refresh. Stupid Turbo.
For some reason, if I search “Pokemon White Version”, this game does not appear. It only appears if I search “Pokemon White”.
Also we should pin this post and unpin the old game edit request thread. :))
EDIT: Same issue is happening for Pokemon Black Version.
