I used to be able to edit game pages before the change to the new layout. For example, I want to add the PC/Windows platform to the following game but I don’t see any way to edit anymore

It’s been added. @peter correct me if I’m wrong, but I think updates need to go through IGDB now, and those are pushed to Grouvee at regular intervals. I imagined that’s what happened here since you posted.

This is indeed the way.

Yes, @WerqKween has the correct response.

I had half a response written this morning and then had to run to work.

What I’m probably going to do is give you curators a way to do a manual refresh from IGDB to make approved edits show up on the site faster. The reason it’s delayed a day is because I use IGDB data dumps to update the site so I don’t have to hit their API as hard. They only update the data dumps every 24 hours. I have a “task” that imports/updates a game individually, I just have to run it from the command line like I did for this game to get it updated quicker.

One of the side benefits of this change to IGDB is not having to manage any of the data on Grouvee itself (for now). Game submissions and looking over edits was fairly overwhelming for me. IGDB does a good job.

Will there be system in place for correcting duplicates here that already have been corrected on IGDB? I’ve run across a couple already.

</div>

We are working on that. Tend of thousands have already been merged and there is a team of curators plugging away at merging the remaining duplicates.

Apologies for being unclear, I meant in the cases where a duplicate entry was pulled from the IGDB database, where they’ve later fixed it. I’m aware of the ongoing merge of GB data.

Unless if that’s what you meant, in which case my bad

</div>

I need to update my merge code to handle IGD to IGDB merges in the case of duplicates still. I’ve been wondering if we’re still going to have figure out manually that duplicates have been merged over there. It does look like they have a Reports API endpoint that might possibly show me what games have been reported as duplicates. That would be amazing if that works. I will be looking at that very soon.

Can you give me a couple of examples? I just started working on this, and it looks like this Report thing is fairly new. I didn’t have any of the data defined in my IGDB data objects because it wasn’t there a couple of years ago I guess. From what I can see there are about 185 merges I need to do. I’m just trying to look through them and see if I can just do this automatically or not. I also want to see if the ones you’ve seen are in the reports list. I can see the one that I submitted and got approved is in the list.

Here’s one: [1](https://www.grouvee.com/games/222372-beyblade-let-it-rip/) and [2](https://www.grouvee.com/games/126798-beyblade-let-it-rip/).
I’m not certain they’ve all necessarily been reported as ‘duplicates’, because in the following case it was actually reported as ‘invalid’ as my initial report as ‘duplicate’ was denied: [The invalid entry](https://www.grouvee.com/games/243974-alice-otherlands/), vs [the kept entry](https://www.grouvee.com/games/327677-alice-asylum/), vs [the GB dupe](https://www.grouvee.com/games/39324-alice-otherlands/) (shares title with the invalid one). Alice: Otherlands is actually a short film series.

I saw more elsewhere, but they’re seemingly fixed here. Must’ve gotten it mixed up.

I cleaned up the Alice entries. Deleted the invalid one, and merged the GB entry into the kept cancelled entry from IGDB. I guess I need to look at “Invalid” reports too. I think they have 3 different kinds of reports that I can get from their API, but I’m only looking at the duplicates right now.

That Beyblades thing must have happened before they started documenting these duplicate reports and letting API users get them. I just went ahead and merged them.

Here’s a recent IGDB duplicate merge I’m aware of (thought it might be interesting to see how it’s handled):

[The Super Dimension Fortress Macross II](https://www.grouvee.com/games/109905-the-super-dimension-fortress-macross-ii/) into [Macross II](https://www.grouvee.com/games/249656-macross-ii/)

Yup, its in their reports. I just haven’t run that task in a while. I don’t have it run automatically yet. I just ran it. It merged 9 games it looks like.

Hey, I’m wondering if there hasn’t been an incorrect merge here?

Original GB URL: [https://www.grouvee.com/games/7055-tech-romancer/](https://www.grouvee.com/games/7055-tech-romancer/)

The game it’s been merged into: [Tech Romancer (2000) | Grouvee](https://www.grouvee.com/games/328225-tech-romancer/) (which basically is a minigame collection bundled with the actual game, see below)

The game I’m thinking it should’ve been merged into: [Tech Romancer (1998) | Grouvee](https://www.grouvee.com/games/193364-tech-romancer/)

I think you’re probably right. I’m sure this one came out of the IGDB provided mapping data. Some of theirs was a little fraught with just matching names. I need to move everyone’s data to the correct one. I don’t think I have a script or task to do that. I will have to write one!
