@peter i can’t edited this entry:
Aren’t those sufficiently different to keep both entries?
They’re the same, the Japanese title just sounds very different.
Edit: To elaborate, the series started off on the Game Boy as ‘Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden’ (they stuck the ‘Final Fantasy’ label to a lot of things). This was localised in North America as ‘Final Fantasy Adventure’, and in PAL-regions as ‘Mystic Quest’.
The game got a bunch of sequels, starting with ‘Secret of Mana’ for the SNES (known in japan as ‘Seiken Densetsu 2’). Here the ‘Final Fantasy’ label was dropped, as well as for all subsequent titles. All future entries in the series were named according the following convention in English: ‘X of Mana’, while in Japanese they simply stuck with ‘Seiken Densetsu #’.
In 2016 the first game received a remake, and in Japanese they used the original name ‘Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden’, but in the west they decided to rename it according to the ‘of Mana’-convention, but still paying homage to the original North American title ‘Final Fantasy Adventure’, they chose the name ‘Adventures of Mana’.
You can, you just have to add /edit to the end of the url. It’s a dumb logic but that I’ve never fixed where if there’s no box art associated with a game, the edit button doesn’t appear. I’ve just been lazy since only like 10 people can see those edit buttons.
Here you go:
It seems over 200 posts have been deleted in this thread, I guess that’s why the counting is a bit wonky.
I discovered more of these:
Trails in the sky
Reigns: Her Majesty

Megadimension Neptunia VII
Immortal Planet
BoxBoy!
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi

Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen Z Hakai-hen
Super Robot Taisen T
Super Robot Wars V
Super Robot Wars BX
https://www.grouvee.com/games/50067-super-robot-taisen-bx/
2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generation
These two are the same game. For the original retail release, it had different titles in North America and Europe. On Steam, it is called Aquadelic GT. In some places, it is also titled Powerboat GT (without the space).
I merged a couple of these. Need to recharge my willpower now. Also Pete should get like a refund or something from GiantBomb.
Oh, but there’s more!

Okay, i just merged all of the other stuff you posted (not the ones in the post i’m replying to) plus the ones from that post from last year.
Btw, if you want to help, find the GiantBomb page for any duplicates you find and copy the url underneath. Most of these are entries that were imported here but abandoned by GB later (pretty sure that’s what happened).
To be honest, I haven’t actually used GiantBomb before, but I’ll take a look. Just to clarify, do you want me to search for the corresponding entries on GiantBomb, and post them alongside the other links?
It seems several of these duplicates on here lack a corresponding page on GiantBomb (which I’m assuming is what you’re referring to when you say they’ve been abandoned there).
Here’s what I got from GiantBomb:

First game in the series, and the only to be localized to English. Easy to miss, considering how few Swedish speakers there are in the world as well as how obscure this is outside of Sweden.
That’s everything from about a month back up until now that’s not been merged already. Hope it will be of any help!

This one they didn’t catch, despite the identical subtitle being a dead giveaway. The release dates are conflicting, and I’m not sure which is correct. Actually, they are probably both wrong because according to the official site the release date is TBD.

Pete gets the database entries from GiantBomb (it’s super-expensive too).
When checking to see what the “correct” entry here is i look at the bottom of the edit page where it has the GiantBomb reference id number. If both entries have an id number, i just google giantbomb + name of game to get the page there so i can see what id number it has there.
Ideally, if you see a duplicated entry just post both and the GiantBomb page below that. Saves me some time that i can use to play terrible video games. ![]()
Took care of this one. Also found a bunch of old ones from July 2018 to look into later.
Edit: Fixed
Many duplicates seem to be caused by Steam-import automatically(?) creating a database entry, and then when a GB entry is created at a later time it subsequently gets imported to grouvee, resulting in a dupe.
I wonder if there’s a script that could be run that would simply single out and list all entries that have names matching with another entry. Of course it wouldn’t catch everything, and some games just happen to share titles while having nothing to do with each other, but it would at least allow for something to systematically be worked through. Just an idea.
Oh yeah, I saw something mentioned about a script that singles out database entries that have had their corresponding GB page deleted earlier in the thread. Did it work as intended? Sounded like a very useful tool for this purpose.
Seems like we have Swag & Sorcery twice:
Edit:
I just saw that both entries seem to come from giantbomb, I created a thread in their forum to merge both entries as well.
@peter what do you want to do with separate entries for demos? E.g.:
I don’t even know. I guess they should stay separate if they’re separate things on Steam or other stores. I’m sure there’s all sorts of situations where this is screwed up in the database.
