@JoeyPajamas hey, i got gifted this. Is it anything special? Ive never seen these before, and when i look online it seems to be all over the place in value. Figured you might have a better handle on figuring out some more info
I wish lol. I dont really care about its worth quite so much as like is it a set or specific run or something.
It’s one in a series dealing with the Osborne legacy and the Green Goblin. The actual story spans several Spider-Man series, including Spectacular Spider-Man. It’s been a long, long time since I read that arc but I think I’m right.
Sadly, no, not really. They did the special cover for the 30th anniversary, but that embossed cover was the regular cover, not a variant. Marvel did this kind of thing with a few books (I’ve one for Doctor Strange) and at best they might go for a few dollars more than a standard issue.
As BMO said, it’s part of a story arc that spanned several Spidey titles, but I don’t think even that arc is a particular standout.
Sorry mate.
Oh, no worries. I was just curious what it was more than anything. Thanks for the info!
I don’t read many comics, but just finished Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Street Fighter
That was pretty interesting ! Maybe could’ve used a few more characters
I’m really enjoying “Somethings killing the children” ive been picking it up in print and reading it in a cafe with a coffee.
Just read the first issue of One World Under Doom. Holeeeey cow it was good! Shouldn’t be surprised as it’s written by the always brilliant Johnathan Hickman. For anyone wondering why Doom is such a good/important villain, this is a great place to find out.
For this interested in the history of Marvel in particular, this may be of interest.
Decided to read the first Spider-Man comics, after seeing the original movie trilogy
Sheesh, nothing seems to go too well for him yet ! And it seems that this could’ve easily been his super villain origin story. The Spider-Man…he’s a menace !
And poor Aunt May ! Losing her husband, and being unaware that her nephew is getting into danger all the time. How long can he keep her in the dark? Brings the movie Big Hero 6 to mind, actually [which was also a comic]
I actually did read Spider-Man’s origin story long ago; it came with a Kids Meal or something. The part I remember was when the guy explains to Spider-Man that he’ll have a hard time cashing a check, and he’s like “we’ll see about THAT!” and then it cuts to Spider-Man having a hard time cashing the check
I saw a couple of Spider-Man shirts at the store today, but I have too many shirts already. One of them was the meme with the two Spider-Mans pointing at each other
Reminds me of this joke:
Why was Aunt May worried about Peter?
Because he was spending too much time on the web!
I read the next one in the collection; it was Spider-Man antagonizing/fighting the Human Torch and the Fantastic Four for whatever reason. I thought they were going to show what led up to this, but not really! Guess he’s still just jealous of them
Looks like he likes Sue Storm, anyway <3
Today I read Spider-Man vs. the Sinister Six ! I’d been wanting to get to that one. I like how it’s like a Mega Man game, or a Boss Rush
Aunt May is in it ! Also has a bunch of cameos from many other characters
Anyone here remember the Dark Horse star wars comics? I loved reading those and still have a decent collection of them.
If anyone is interested, I’ve written a review of the first issue of the new Doctor Strange series.
Also, and I might have mentioned this previously, One World Under Doom is a bloody good read if anyone wants to keep up with the current big event of the 616.
